Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden hasn't played in three weeks, and the teams offense is struggling on an epic level. They haven't scored a touchdown since October 26 against Baltimore, and have found first downs hard to come by. McFadden has been bothered by turf toe on both feet for much of the season, injuries that may or may not have been caused by shoes that don't quite fit. Just don't expect the No. 4 overall pick to take another painkilling shot to get on the field. From Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee:
He didn't try to play yesterday and missed his third straight game. And he won't try to use medicine to get on the field. "Nah, I ain't taking no shot," McFadden said. "The last time I took a shot (Buffalo), it made it worse on me, so that's something I'm not gonna do again."The Raiders have been held to just 16 points and 247 yards rushing in the previous three games without McFadden.

it seems like the minority players dont give 100 % i think the nfl should start giving more white guys a chance rather then shut them out for the color of there skin patriots did pretty well with a 50 50 split in race. u got to love the game not just the money popwarner kids play with all types of growing pains these million dollar men need to man up or get out im tired of watching millionars play fag football and im sure alot of people feel the same

Anyway, I don't think it's unreasonable at all to refuse to numb an existing injury before it's healed. I'm sure he's an expert on his own foot.
this isn't about race, it's about a guy who doesn't want to make an injury worse, by taking the pain killers it only masks the injury and he can hurt himself more than he is now...he's young and has his whole carrer in front of him amd possibly a great career ..he's making the smart decision..
Did McFadden ever really graduate or even attend college---Nah,I ain't takin no shot and it made it worse on me----WOW, no english major is this guy.Maybe, when his career is over, he can go to school and at least learn English
would you want to take a pain killing shot, and go play with an injured foot for the oakland raiders?
maybe if he was on the patriots or giants or really any team but the raiders. the raiders are the worst team in the nfl...and yes i know the lions havent won a game
