The Rams had to figure it would be an uphill battle against a quickly improving Jets defense, especially without their best offensive player, Steven Jackson. The Jets' front is strong enough to hold down any of Jackson's backups, so they could then put their emphasis on stopping the passing game. And the whole thing just turned into a disaster. Let us count the futility, bullet-point style:
-- Five turnovers, zero takeaways. You can't win a football game with a minus-five turnover ratio on any level.
-- The Rams were outgained 206 to 80 on the ground.
-- The Jets scored more points on defense than the Rams did on offense.
-- Jets' rookie tight end Dustin Keller -- who entered the game with only 147 receiving yards -- outgained the entire Rams receiving corps.
-- Thomas Jones shredded the Rams abysmal run defense for 149 yards and three touchdowns.
There's more ...
-- Marc Bulger was lifted from the game, for futility or to spare him further embarrassment. Either way, he looked awful.
-- The 44-point margin was the highest in the history of the Jets franchise. They aren't exactly the Jags or Texans, either. That's a long history.
I could keep going, but that would be a waste of time. Almost as much as the three-plus hours any Rams fan wasted watching this atrocity today.
It's not all bad, though -- punter Donnie Jones averaged 51.8 yards per punt. Woohoo!

They've turned this once proud organization and perennial playoff team into the laughing stock of the NFL.
Yet the internets are not filled with beard stroking and tongue clucking and the "What's to be done with Chip Rosenbloom, Lucia Rodriguez and Stan Kroenke?"
Why does no one blames the front office unless the name "Raiders" is attached to it?

Marc Bulger's arm is dead. He no longer is the pro bowl caliber player that he was. Steven Jackson and Orlando Pace are hurt more often than they are healthy. Our defense has not been able to tackle since we lost London Fletcher and Aeneas Williams. No one seems interested in hanging on to the football. The offensive lines blocking schemes are rather offensive which leads to the injuries that Jackson and Bulger have sustained. How can we win with the likes of Pittman, Darby and Fellers on the field? I think it is time to blow up the team, sign some big name studs on the off season, draft some real talent, change back to the old uniforms and maybe even come back home to L.A. Like Obama says, "It's Time for Change!"

The whole O-line needs to go,especially Barron & Incognito.Holt is over the hill, and pouting.Jackson is a selfish, overrated RB.He was a no-show in training camp while he was signed to a contract, and only plays when he wants. He thinks he's some kind of super star.Haslett inherited this team of whiners ,and hopefully if they retain him, he'll clean house in the off-season.
