It looks like Gretz is going to have plenty of material to work with for his end-of-season "Worst NFL Fines" post. In addition to Giants defensive end Justin Tuck having his wages garnish-ied for tackling Cowboys quarterback Brooks Bollinger -- and that's all he did, tackle him -- PFT reports that Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley will be out $10,000 for sacking Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell "in an intimidating manner."
Um, what? Intimidating? Does that mean James Harrison should be fined for every play he's on the field, because I'm pretty sure he intimidates a lot of people.
Whatever, here's the video of Woodley's intimidation tactics (sack No. 5, at the 1:15 mark):
Here's a thought: instead of fining Woodley for doing his job, how about the league sanction tight end Todd Yoder for the worst attempt at a block in the history of tackle football. Way to take a dive and get your quarterback maimed, Todd.
On the upside: pansy-ification of the NFL is nearly complete!

Absolutely ridiculous...idk what else to say, really. How the hell can they fine him for doing his job? These fines are getting out of control. You can't take the touch out of touch football!

It wasn't that he did anything wrong, it was just his turn to be
fined this week.

I am a skins fan and a sack is a sack. It is tackle football and if you can't sack the quarterback what can youdo?
The fines are out of hand.
That game was sack crazy. 8 by the Steelers and 5 by the Skins...

Absolute garbage. Why watch the NFL if they want to turn it into ice-skating?
It's time for the Stillers D to have a one-on-one meeting with Goodell . . . in a dark alley.

Let's fine Der Kommissar. Let's take away his anti-trust exemption, then laugh at his cries of "unfair" "ridiculous" and "completely unnecessary". I hope his entire family ends up in the poorhouse.

Time to take our league back. Now that all the (terrorist, criminals) congress have been elected or re-elected to office everyone start writing their (terrorist) congress demanding an investigation into Anti-trust violations beginning with Goodells protection of New England cheating. Get Goodell's head in a vice grip answering questions until the league gets rid of his jackass

WTF!? Have they ever seen the Ravens horseshit before? Ray Lewis does that kinda shit every game, every year! I'm sick and tired of Pittsburgh getting singled out for this crap. God forbid a defense control a game. It's like when the NHL tried to reduce checks to increase scoring. I'm disgusted by this season and the fine-happy administration. Who was on the competition committee this past offseason, Dr. Phil?

actually ray lewis doesnt do that because he blitzes about once every game. he rarely ever hits the qb. however, you are correct in saying that he does do that (to rb's). i do think that its ridiculous that they are fining woodley for that hit. i disagree with SOME of hines ward's hits because i think they are at least debatable but woodley's hit was totally clean and pitts defense did dominate that game.

I bet quarterbacks of old like Terry Bradshaw and Dan Marino are laughing under their breathes. If Jack Hamm and the steel curtain of the seventies were playing under these rules, the refs would be getting sacked right along the quarterbacks. Whoever is levying these fines didn't play when the players played to win instead of just a paycheck. Oh, I make $20 million a year, don't hit me.

Just a for instance, I dare anyone tell Ronnie Lott to slow down before he took a receiver's head off after a catch. These new players are becoming wimps. If they don't want to play with the big boys go home and cry to mama.

THAT´S WHAT Woodley GETS PAID FOR!!! And where the hell is the player´s union? they should say something when a player is being harassed

Are they serious? I'm a Redskins fan and that hit was perfectly fine, in fact I love hits like that where the defender just wraps up the quarterback and takes him down. Sure it sacks that it was my quarterback but that is ridiculous. It's like everybody says, they are taking the tackle out of tackle football.

Truly not as big of a Steelers story as Jeff Reed being traded for a song and a dance (literally) at http://www.SteelersTrade.com.

It was unnecessary roughness, seriously. Also that's a facemask (or a hands to the face whatever you want to call it but call it something because you can't touch a player's facemask- you just can't) by #51 in sack #2.
