The DeAngelo Hall Fallout: Nnamdi Asomugha Isn't Happy, Demands Answers

The Raiders today officially parted ways with cornerback DeAngelo Hall, and one of his former teammates isn't exactly happy about it. According to Raiders beat writer Jerry McDonald, cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha met a few members of the media at a local eatery and told them to be at his locker after practice because, well, he had a few things to get off his chest.

And that's exactly what he did.

"I'm obviously disappointed. I don't agree with what happened," Asomugha said. "I don't agree with what's going on. But I am just a player so I can't speak on it. I don't make the decisions. All I can do is play but I don't agree with what happened at all."

One of the things that seemed to have Asomugha annoyed the most was the fact Hall only had eight games to prove himself, and went onto explain how this doesn't exactly make guys want to play harder. So, basically, things may actually be getting worse in Oakland.

According to McDonald, the Raiders are going to use Chris Johnson as Hall's replacement in the starting lineup. As head coach Tom Cable puts it, "at some point it became he was the second best corner here." Frankly, that sounds like a problem.

Asomugha, meanwhile, plans on doing the unthinkable and marching into Al Davis' lair and getting a few answers as to what exactly is going on out there.

As the team captain, Asomugha said he was informed by Cable of the decision but wasn't given a reason. He said he told Cable what he thought and intends to seek a meeting with Al Davis. Asomugha also isn't happy with the Ronald Curry or Michael Huff benchings and how they were handled. "I haven't spoken to him yet. I'm sure I'll be speaking to him soon," Asomugha said. "Just about the nature of what's going on. I think I've been here long enough that we can have that discussion, how this thing can get better."

I'm sure this will all end well.

Of course, because this is the Raiders we're talking about, there's always more to the story. According to Mike Florio over at PFT, the Raiders, reportedly, offered Hall a chance to remain in Oakland ... if he was willing to give up his injury settlement guarantee. He refused, presumably, because it's potentially worth $16 million.
