It took 23 games and 14 months, but it's Brady Quinn Time in Cleveland, and by most accounts, the fans are happy with the move. But they also seem to accept the fact that the remaining eight games are just a warm up for the 2009 season. Or maybe I'm just projecting. (Plus, Romeo says nobody's given up on '08!)
In addition to Quinn potentially being the Browns' quarterback of the future (for more than a year this time, please), he's also a swell person. When asked about Derek Anderson's demotion, Quinn offered this:
"I feel for him," Quinn said. "I was upset for him. A lot of people see this as a sport and a business, but there's definitely friendships that extend way off the field. He's like family to me. So it's tough to see him go through that and see the way he was treated here."Well said, Brady. (No, really, this is me being serious.)
As for making his first start tomorrow night against the Broncos, Quinn admits that "any time you have a short week it [doesn't] help with preparation," but believes "God wouldn't have presented this opportunity for me if I wasn't ready."
Good point. The good Lord smites those Browns players he doesn't like with staph infections. Or cement platters for hands. So godspeed, Brady. Godspeed.

What do you guys think about starting Quinn for fantasy? I got a little gypped out of the QB situation (David Garrard was my #1) during the autodraft and I've been having to try to pick up the pieces with Jason Campbell and Kerry Collins all season so far. I grabbed Quinn and Hill as soon as I heard they were starting- right now I'm going with Hill, but Quinn has better weapons (on paper, anyway). Thoughts?

Quinn has a good O-Line in front of him also, but unless he really lights it up coming out of the blocks they will probably give him a diet of short passes.
