Raiders Could Release DeAngelo Hall

The Oakland Raiders are close to a decision to release cornerback DeAngelo Hall, Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting.

Assuming the Raiders go through on their plans to cut him, they will have paid Hall $8 million for eight games, after sending a second-round draft pick to the Falcons to acquire Hall. But according to Schefter, the Raiders have already decided that the contract they gave Hall was a mistake, and they don't want to pay him another $16 million that he'd get if he were to get hurt while playing for Oakland.

Hall will be placed on waivers, meaning any NFL team that wants his contract can take him. However, giving how much money is still owed to Hall, it's extremely unlikely that any team would pick him up. Which means Hall would become an unrestricted free agent.

Don't relese DeAngelo hall because he could do a lot of stuff for your team this year.If you are going to relese him then trade him to the Packers,Falcons to be number 21 on one those teams.So he can be on a good team like the Falcons wich are 5-3 or the Packers that are 5-4 to be a conerback again like he has always been on all the teams like the Falcons,raiders, Chargers,bengels.He is a good conerback you got to admit that he is a good player he has not wine when he miss a interception like Champ Baily.

the NFL is paying alot of money for these players. However, I feel that is wrong to punish a player for getting hurt and slandering him at the same time.

He didnt get hurt, he sucks. He was overrated and he is even worse than we thought. Its not slander to call out the obvious.Him and walker are both way overpaid. Al should have took him up when he wanted to retire

I don't think its hall's fault oakland is awful but you can't really blame oakland for wanting to drop these crazy contracts they did last off season I guess weird al will say that was kiffen's fault to lol

This is why the Raiders will never get better under the leadership of the cryptkeeper (AKA Al Davis). They trade a 2nd round pick for a guy who can't play, then they sign him for so much money that they are forced to dump him when he struggles. Now they are out a bunch of money, and they don't have the player that the pick would have brought in. Lane Kiffin is lucky as hell to get out of that nuthouse!!

Raider + Stupidity = Hand in Hand. Al Davis should have his head examined. Giving out these killer contracts and then letting the talent just.....go. Does this freakin guy have a clue? What purgatory for a player....the Oakland situation anyway. The leagues worst owner, most pathetic "head coach" or as I like to call them....."Davis Drones". Its' career suicide to play for those people.

Deangelo Hall has the 2nd highest contract on the Raiders and is not in the top 20 of the teams best players. Next to Nnamdi he is horrible and not nearly the expactations we were hoping for...

Maybe he's emotionally distraught because he doesn't have the chance to go over to Mike Vick's house anymore and watch animals being tortured. He's a lousy cornerback and a moron to boot. But that's the Raiders for you- they'll sign anyone and if Vick ever does get back to the NFL, I'm sure they'll keep the roster seat warm for him.
