I don't know if this is the worst Raiders team ever. It might be. I'm not exactly saying it is, either. I'm simply asking. And if I were to ask, say, San Francisco Chronicle columnist Scott Ostler that question, his answer would be, I'm guessing, a resounding yes! I know this because today Ostler penned a column saying that this is, in fact, the worst Raiders team ever. Based on recent years, that's really saying something.
Maybe I'm overreacting, still in shock after witnessing the 24-0 loss to the visiting-but-right-at-home Atlanta Falcons. That loss was uglier than my Halloween costume: Al Davis in a Raid- erette uniform. Seriously, this might be the darkest hour in Raiders history. The team was 2-12 in 1961, 1-13 in '62, and 2-14 two seasons ago. The Raiders are 2-6 now and could win another game or two. But when you put it all together, this might be the Raiders' all-time low, because hope does not seem to loom on the horizon.I think in the minutes and hours following that embarrassing performance yesterday it would be easy to overreact. But when you actually break it down like Ostler does, man, he might be on to something.
The 2006 team that went 2-14 was pretty bad, but at least that team played pretty solid defense and lost four games by seven points or less.
This team? Eh. They keep finding new ways to lose. Whether it be blowing a fourth quarter lead (or two), getting completely blown out from the start, or only picking up three first downs.
At the end of the day, you just have to feel bad for the loyal Raiders fans, like John McCain!

2006 was a far worse team. At least I believe this offense is capable of scoring.

This Raider Organization must be dismantled. They fired the wrong guy apparently. Rob Ryan shouldn't be coaching Pee-wee football . He is out coached every week. Who ever is running the offense is totally incompetent. I don't care if Mcfadden has 2 toes apputated, he must be on the field at all times. He is their sole threat of any kind. Put him on the damn field and give him more than 3-5 touches, please!!!!! I've been a fan for 35 years and the Raiders have become a joke of a franchise. I don't see this getting any better untill the Davis family and the other general partners realize the need to get a Bill Parcells type to straighten things out. Can anyone throw the bank at Bill Cower and give him totall controll? Just Do Something !!!!!!

I'm reading a lot of blogs and can't believe people are blaming Russell. People please, It wouldn't matter if we had Joe Montana, no QB will do well behind such a horrid O-line. Everything starts up front. If they're not careful they'll turn Russell into Alex Smith. On another note, yes we do need Al to step down and just sign the checks and hire a general manager of football operations. We need an Ozzie Newsome or Ron Wolf kind of guy.
