New York Jets quarterback Brett Favre added another milestone to his Hall of Fame career today, becoming the first player in NFL history to throw 300 career interceptions.
Interception No. 300 was an incredibly costly one: The Jets led the Buffalo Bills 23-10 in the fourth quarter and were just trying to protect their lead, but Favre threw a bad pass that Bills cornerback Jabari Greer picked off and returned 42 yards for a touchdown, getting the Bills right back in the game.
Favre is one of the all-time great quarterbacks, but he's also one of the all-time mistake-prone quarterbacks. He leads the league in interceptions this season, and as the 300 milestone reminds us, no quarterback in history has matched Favre in the interception department.

At some point the morons that count interceptions will just have to stop. All player stats for a guy who has played more than anyone else in his position, are of course going to be tops. And for a guy who suffered through mostly mediocre receiving corps and poor running games, he is simply remarkable. So get over it!

...including interceptions. The Brett love-fest starts every year when he talks about retiring, and you eat it up because it's on sports center, and that's where you are force fed your opinions. He's good, don't get me wrong...but he's famous for choking when it counts and throwing that game-losing interception. Ask a long-time GB fan how wonderful he is.

I have ALWAYS said that Favre is the most overrated QB in all of NFL history. He is (was?) good, but he is not even top 20 all time. He has just played for a VERY long time.

Yes it is true that Favre owns many records in the NFL - but you know what, maybe it is time for him to really stay retired!

Say what you will.....He is still better than 3/4 of the quarterbacks in the league.. If you want to run your mouths, go for it. But I'll tell you this...If he goes on the free-agent market at the end of this season.....there will be no shortage of teams trying to get him, including Minnesota this time. Detroit will probably make a run at him also, along with about 10 other teams. So don't tell me he should stay retired, or he isn't that good anymore, or any of the other crap you geeks spew. Am I a Brett Favre jock sniffer? No, my team is the Steelers, but I know a hall of famer when I see one, and I can see he isn't done yet. I'll say it for you morons. After Green Bay's defeat against the Titans today...go ask Packer fans if they wish Favre was still there. I'll tell you what the answer is, but if you had any common sense, you know they want him back.

Scott, you're right on almost everything. Better than 3/4 in the league. It's probably actually higher than that. People are Brett Haters I don't know why, look what he's doing for the jets? If he was in Minnesota they would be undefeated no doubt. Brett has a couple more seasons in him, people don't realize that Brett's not like all these other sissy quarterbacks he can take a hit and give one and has proven in a lot of his games throughout his career when he's leading his running back blocking linebackers. All these Brett haters are just soft and they like soft quarterbacks.

I completely agree with what you and Rex have said - and Rex is even obsevant enough to notice that Brett takes hits and gives them and runs blocks for his running backs!!! Kudos to you both!!!

Nope....sorry....we don't want the puss. He's had is ass thrown down on the Texas Stadium turf more than any Dallas QB ever has. Only QB to ever cry more than him is Phil Simms.

If Favre was at the helm today vs. the Titans, it would have been a 4+ interception day. Titans corners defend passes like nobody in the league, and (perhaps unlike their receivers) are quite capable of catching passes thrown right to them. Brett would have been embarrassed.

How the hell would Brett FaRve NOT hold most NFL passing records? The self-centered arrogant prick has stayed on longer than he should have - playing football since they had leather helmets, for heaven's sake!!! It was cool to watch his "gritty" play about 5 years ago, but he has gotten stale! Brett - please don't go away mad, just go away.

Some of those responses were just ridiculous. You have to keep in mind that he's been playing for a very long time and has had some good and bad times surrounding him.
As a Packer fan, I'm not afraid to admit that we had a few years there where our receivers couldn't catch a pass to save their lives. They'd get a great pass directly at their numbers, directly in their hands, and they'd bobble it up for the other team to catch. It happened over and over again for a few seasons, and let me tell you, it was PAINFUL to watch. But a good chunk of those were NOT Brett's fault.
He is an amazing Quarterback who has made some amazing plays, and I think the article kind of overlooked the fact that the pass itself was not horrible, and the Jets still went on to win the game in the end.

I remember football Hall of Famer Warren Moon because he has the most fumbles of all-time with 161. Watch out, Warren, Brett Favre is catching up to you. I'm sure MDS will have a timely post when he does.
This is what I remember the following baseball Hall of Famers for:
Cap Anson has the most errors ever amongst first basemen.
Eddie Collins has the most errors ever amongst American League second basemen.
Ty Cobb has the most errors ever amongst American League outfielders.
I remember future basketball Hall of Famer Karl Malone because he has the most turnovers ever.
And let's not forget that Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has the most personal fouls ever.
Congratulations to you all!

I am a Green Bay fan, and this season we don't have to deal with Brett Favre and his interceptions, we also don't have to deal with things like, winning the division, being a super bowl contender, the team is far worse for not having him (4-4), but hey who cares about the game right? we win the turnover margin now LOL. give me a break. the Jets are enjoying those interceptions alot more than they enjoyed Chad Pennington's accuracy and efficiency, which gave them a 4-12 record. The packers are doing far worse without his interceptions. Statistics are nothing more than unreliable indicators, and are for fantasy games, not sports. Otherwise, we end up praising Trent Edwards, the losing quarterback, and scrutinizing a legend on a day when he added to everyrecord in the history of the position and won.....AGAIN.
The jets went from a door mat, to being tied for the division lead, thanks to the terrible Brett Favre.

Couldn't agree with you more JC. How many games has favre won because he isnt afraid to take chances a hell of a lot more than he's lost. And for all those people hating favre because he gets so much "press" ask yourself one question does favre call up espn and tell them to film him. I think not. He must be pretty damn good if he has thrown 300 picks and is still a starting quarterback. And Nate we wouldnt have our "panties in a bunch" if it werent for idiots like you and cant realize how good he is.
