Washington Redskins coach Jim Zorn is a fairly even-tempered guy most of the time, but something about the way a reporter addressed him after Sunday's victory over the Detroit Lions put Zorn in a foul mood:
"You keep rolling your eyes and I'm getting ticked off, and I think I'm answering your question," Zorn said to the reporter. "Are you OK? OK."
So what happened between Zorn and the reporter?
Dan Steinberg of the DC Sports Bog writes that it was a misunderstanding between Zorn and a Washington Times writer, who was asking Zorn a question about the team's clock management. But if Zorn gets that upset about misunderstandings after the team wins, what would have happened if the Redskins had lost?

I honestly think that is the first time I have witnessed Coach Z lose his cool. It was only a flash, but still. The bottom line is we won, we are now sitting at 6-2, which is more wins than most "experts" even predicted we would have this enitre season.

Is this the first time a coach got upset with someone in the media?... Everyone's always pickin' on the Skins.
6-2, boy does that sound sweet.

yea but still, the reporter has a point. We did have very poor clock management and it almost cost us the game yet again. The methodical Zorn approach to a football game has helped us win big against Dallas and Philly. But, we should have delivered a knock out blow to Detroit due to their depleted secondary. Throw the ball and knock em out early. Why even give them a fighting chance. Thats why we lost against the Rams.

Maybe the reporter was just a prick and Zorn was tired of dealing with him. He (the reporter) may have been a transplant from Dallas.

He probably was a "Prick". Nobody reads the "Washington Times" anyway.

I luv the fact we came out with a win, but i honestly didnt get the run before the 2 minute warning. If we wouldve went up the field off the break and get a first down, that wouldve changed the outcome in that drive even with the penalties involved. Not saying we wouldve scored a touchdown, but probably put the kicker a little closer for a kick if it were to come down to that. But Im really tired of them not putting away teams early and keep them lingering around. There is still a little conservativeness that we need to get rid of.Pittsburgh is next and we need an "A" game all around.

I like Zorn's methodical style. It will win us more games than it loses.

I fully support Zorn's fiery temper, and hope he isn't afraid to flash it in the future. The media guys think they walk on air or something a lot of the time and it's great that Zorn isn't afriad to bust them back down to size. Go Big Z!!!
