If there was ever a situation to describe the Kansas City Chiefs of late, it is today's talk of the team looking at Daunte Culpepper. Talks, possible workouts and now nothing, as the Kansas City Star's blog Red Zone is reporting that the talks have settled and nothing more should happen between camps.Culpepper would be an obvious upgrade to the quarterbacking core they're stuck with now, but of course the buck stopped right around hopeful and here is what Kansas City has to look forward to.
If the Chiefs don't sign a passer this week, they'll enter the Jets game with banged-up veteran Damon Huard, second-year quarterback Tyler Thigpen and Ingle Martin, who coach Herm Edwards said Sunday wasn't ready to lead the Chiefs offense.Unless Culpepper was the person to snuff this idea out, why wouldn't they give him a shot? His career quarterback rating of 89.9 would have the three-time Pro Bowler ranked 15th in the league this year, a position that would exponentially improve the Chiefs situation.
Now they're going after former Tampa Bay quarterback Bruce Gadkowski, who in 11 games starting in 2006 had nine interceptions and six lost fumbles. The thought behind this is mind-boggling. You're bringing in a below average quarterback when you already have three below average or inexperienced quarterbacks on your roster?
I guess the Chiefs front office expects a lot more injuries before the season ends. If that is the case, bravo.

Look I've seen Daunte play football. I think we all have. If you pu a good line in front of him, he will make plays. I wished that the Cowboys picked him up. But If I were Daunte I wouldn't sign with the Chiefs. Your star running back is suspended god knows how long and they have no WR's or an Offensive line. It's a no win for both sides.

I would not want to be a kansas city anything, anytime, for anyone. The entire town at least the sports side sucks. Royals....Brett,.. Chiefs..Dawson... Sprint center hopeful? Stars on ice. This use to be a wide open town with Hot women, cool beer, and no queers.

If I was the KC CHIEFS COACH, I would have Larry Johnson In the backfield on each play.
Larry would run a continoues option play. Run, pitch, throw, or

Really? What's so wrong with Tyler Thigpen? So he's not a 'big name', big deal. He's made plays, he's young, and he's got a playmaker's body. Get him a line (as well as a running back that doesn't bitch about everything and a defense that doesn't blow 3-score leads) and he's a winner.
Trust me. I go to a school in Tyler Thigpen's old college conference and I've seen him play in college and in pro. He's legit. Right now, if you're a Chiefs fan, the quarterback position is the least of your problems.
