The New England Patriots are hosting the Denver Broncos tonight, and they'll be doing so, once again, without running back Laurence Maroney. Actually, they'll be playing the rest of the season without the third-year running back, as the team officially placed him on injured reserve today, ending his season.From Mike Reiss of the Boston Globe:
The Patriots have placed running back Laurence Maroney on season-ending injured reserve, according to an NFL source. Maroney, now in his third season, missed Sunday's game against the Chargers with a shoulder injury. He also missed the team's Week 3 loss to the Dolphins with a shoulder injury.With Maroney done for the year, and Matt Cassel being hit-or-miss at the quarterback position, that means a lot more carries for Sammy Morris and Kevin Faulk. Not that they weren't getting a lot of carries anyway, seeing as how Maroney only played in three games this season.

Maroney has to go, he has been mediocre at best, has had a few good games in the last 3 seasons but acts mostly like he doesnt want to get hit or mess up his hair. I hope the powers that be don't continue drinking the koolaid that he will develop into a star
