When the NFL began selling tickets to the October 26th Chargers/Saints game in London, it sent Reggie Bush across the Atlantic to promote the American version of football. But there's just one problem: Bush won't be playing in the game. And he reportedly won't even be making the trip to London with his teammates. Bush hurt his knee today, and the early indications are that he'll miss four to six weeks. And so he'll be stuck at home, getting treatment and rehabbing, rather than playing at Wembley Stadium.
That's bad news for the Saints, as Bush is having a good year as a receiver and punt returner. And it's worse news for the NFL, which desperately wants to expand its fanbase overseas and thought Bush was just the kind of exciting player to help it do so. And, of course, it's bad news for British fans who bought those expensive NFL tickets because they wanted to see Reggie Bush.

Why can't the NFL figure out that football is an American game? Sending teams overseas is a waste of time and penalizes the teams that are forced to give up home games and screws up their momentum.
England has cricket and futball...We have the NFL. Let's just leave it at that.

Yeah not to mention that the Saints have been the team by far to have the most home games taken away in a long time the paswt 3 or 4 years. We had to play a "home" game in New York against the Giants after Katrina, and then we had to play the remaining "home games" for that season at San Antonio and Baton Rouge. So i cant for the life of me figure out why they would pick US as the only team to take a home game from when the league is publicly saying they want to support the city and "help it get back on its feet" financely when by taking that home game it takes away one more game that us local fans have a chance of seeing and takes away all that local revenue and buisness it brings other small businesses. Ive NEVER been one to believe any "constiperancy talk" in the NFL, NBA, etc. but i dont know what to think if they keep taking away home games from us when they had 31 other teams to choose from to give us a break and help us locally. Will almost start looking like the league wants us to get moved to bigger more stablized market.....

Man, the Saints just can't catch a break, can they? Just when they get Colston and Shockey back, Bush goes down. As much as I like the Saints (not 'my team' per se, but still one of my favorites to watch), I just don't think that they've got the luck this year. That said, in terms of pure rushing, the Saints still have Deuce...and Pierre Thomas (started a few games and did pretty well) and Aaron Stecker (ditto). They're deep at running back, but they'd better call in a mongoose to kill the snake that keeps biting them, or this season's going down the crapper.
