Life just keeps getting better for Boston. Well, aside from the "greatest comeback in Red Sox history", it actually doesn't. Tom Brady is the latest touch of kind of bad news, because he apparently underwent a second surgery last week to follow up on his original knee operation. The Boston Globe reported Friday that the New England Patriots quarterback had the procedure Wednesday for an infection in his left knee that was operated on Oct. 6.It's a little debilitating to realize that not only is Brady likely behind schedule, but that the first surgery just didn't go as well as everyone would have liked. Actually, that's fairly terrifying -- when your football franchise is in a total freefall and your fanbase is freaking out, the last thing you want to have happen is for your superstar quarterback dealing with a setback on his career altering knee surgery.
Brady's agent, Donald Yee, did not respond to a phone call or an e-mail. Calls to the Patriots and the doctor who performed the first surgery in Los Angeles, Neal ElAttrache, were not returned.
But that's what Boston is dealing with, which means more exciting paparazzi photos of Brady trying to move around various cities while dealing with crutches. Fun times!

I am four months out of the same surgery and I believe you are overreacting a bit here. Sometimes there are post-surgery infections - can happen with any surgery and it doesnt mean the first one was bad, nor does it mean he is behind schedule. I can tell you from experience that one month post-ACL surgery is no fun regardless of infection or not and you dont make enough progress in that month that translates to football. It is a matter of walking and range of motion, which I am sure he is/will be doing and will get egardless. Its not likely he there is a measurable setback in his recovery.

I agree, I had an ACL reconstruction the process of rehab takes time. But to be honest after having that surgery the knee operated on works better than the other.

I only hope that Tom doesn't have to endure the same thing that my son did. My son had ACL surgery and then developed an infection. He went through 2 irrigation and debridement surgeries and then ended up having to go under the knife again to remove the ACL graft and hardware. After 6 weeks of IV antibiotics, he had the surgery redone by a knee specialist that is very prominent. Good luck to you Tom!
