Dick Butkus, former NFL linebacker/actor/high school football coach, was recently asked on Mouthpiece Sports what he thought of suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones. Actually, he was asked "how much of an idiot is Pacman Jones?" Well, Mr. Butkus, how much of an idiot is Pacman Jones?
Yeah. He's an idiot. Butkus clearly didn't hold back, and made it known that he's "pissed off" when people, like Jones, "jeopardize the good name of football."

Butkus makes a good point. Why should the NFL allow a player on suspension to be signed? Next thing you know players in prison will be signed. Uh oh, how many more months has Vick got left to serve?

All it shoes is that Jerry Jones can do what ever he wants in the NFL. As soon as he signed Pacman everyone knew he was going to play this year. Goodell needs to grow a pair and suspend this idiot for good.

i grew up watching MR BUTKUS,and i have alot of love for the legends of the game of football, players now a days have no respect for the institution of football, every time players act like morons they not only tarnish the pure competition of the game but also disrespect the legends that put so much heart sweat and tears, that it is an abomination, the only way to clean up the sport is to ban the idiots for life ,we dont need garbage, keep it in your own neihborhoods if you want to call it that

I didn't get a chance to play in the NFL. I had a hook-up with someone who was going to make sure I got a try-out with a NFL team. All I had to do was play college football and not get injured. Well, I had 2 knee injuries serious enough to end my football playing. So, I agree with Dick Butkus, my all-time favorite football player, next to Jim Brown. Jones has had more chances than most people have in life to change his ways and make something out of himself. But as a society we must remember, just because we give people a ton of money for performing their skills, doesn't make them intelligent. From the time he was a kid showing athletic promise, Jones has been able to get into trouble and have it swept under the rug. It's not a Black thing or a White thing. It's a problem that deals with, talent, skill, and the pursuit of profits and it starts at a very early age in our society. Not to be biblical, but money isn't the root of all evil. It's the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil. I'm now a Ph.D. in Education and I coach younger football players (junior high age). It never ceases to amaze me the excuses parent use to justify their kids' behaviors. I've told parents their child can't play in a particular game because of horrible grades and the parents start complaining about how I'm ruining their child's chances of playing at the next level. I had one parent tell me that his son shouldn't have to do what I needed him to do, because he was more gifted than his teammates. This type of parenting results in people like Jones, Rylan L. the ex-Washington State QB who lasted 2 minutes in the NFL and Todd M. the ex-Oakland QB who lasted less then 2 minutes in the NFL.
