It's been a horrendous 48 hours for the Dallas Cowboys: They lost a heartbreaker of a game in Arizona. Quarterback Tony Romo got hurt. Running back Felix Jones got hurt. Cornerback Terernce Newman got hurt. Punter Mat McBriar got hurt. Cornerback Adam Pacman Jones got suspended. Can anything good happen to this team?Yes, finally, something: They've added a first-rate wide receiver to line up opposite Terrell Owens.
Dallas acquired Roy Williams from the Detroit Lions today, trading a first-round pick, a third-round pick and a sixth-round pick to get him, Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports.
Although that's a steep price, it's worth it for the Cowboys, who are loading up to make a Super Bowl run this season. There's no better pair of receivers in the NFL than Williams and Owens. And at this point, the Cowboys need all the help they can get.

Sadly, I'm a Lions fan. The Cowboys got a steal. People are going to wonder if the draft picks were too steep a price. They weren't! Roy is one of only two guys from the Lions that has any real talent. He is also one of the most gifted wide receivers in the league. Dallas may have to skate buy for three weeks without Romo, but their schedule isn't too bad during that time period. When Romo gets back, the Cowboys offense is going to be scary.

It was a good trade for both teams. The Lions have no use for Roy Williams: They don't have a quarterback to get him the ball. They also have gaping holes every where and need multiple draft picks to address those needs. As for the Cowbots, Although Roy Williams does not complement TO very well, they are going to still be quite a tandem. It was definitely a good move for the Lions, and it should end up being a solid move for the Cowboys (and it definitely will be if they win a superbowl because of it).

Hmmm...could work beautifully, or it could blow up in their faces. Wide receivers are like hosts on The View -- whiny, petty, narcissistic, self-absorbed, me-me-me personalities.
If they were normal people, they'd light up the league. But you know jealousy will rear its head.
There's only one football, folks.

This trade makes no sense. Especially to waste 3 draft picks on it, when you have 3 solid recievers

Finally, Roy Williams talent will be put to good use. Now all the Lions need to do is give up Calvin Johnson to another team so he can start to have a career also. Detroit Lions; where talent and careers go to die. Those draft picks will mean nothing, probably draft some more wide receivers.

Thankfully, the Millen era is over in Detroit.
Mark my words; the two first-round picks for next year will be a QB (who knows where the hell the back of the endzone is located) and an offensive lineman - similar to what the Falcons did this past draft...to great effectiveness, I might add.

I say Good riddance, lousy attitude and too many dropped balls. Draft picks will help more than jones could ever. See-ya Roy

Being a former Lions season tix. holder to all Dallas fans. You can have Roy Williams. For every 3 good catches he makes, he will drop 1 in return. After dealing with him since drafted, he needs to take off those pretty white gloves he wears. Also, be ready for some minor BS from Ole Roy. He is good at passing the buck in a round about kind of sub-par receiver way. Good Bye Roy, Forever.....

Finally, some good news for Roy Williams. this is so great for him. He is an outstanding football player and Jerry Jones should not even think twice about cutting Pacman. Misbehavin' baby. Believe me...this is a win/win situtation. Congrats to the Cowboys and Roy Williams!

I remember when I was a kid . . . there was this quarterback . . . Staubach playing for Dallas. I was a Pittsburgh fan and this guy was the scariest dude in the world when he lined up for the shotgun. Impossible to hate, but just the cleanest, smartest, assassin in the football game. Now I look at Dallas (and I live in New Hampshire) and these guys remind me of the great rodeo circuit in New England . . . a bunch of dreamers getting off on rodeo clowns. :) Plus they smell bad.

I'm a longhorn fan, and a dallas cowboy fan. As a longhorn, it'll be interesting to see up close what roy's like in the NFL (although from afar, not too impressive, but hard to tell who's fault that is). As a cowboy fan, do we really need another big-ticket reciever? if we need one at all, it would have been better to bring him over when we actually had a quarterback that could get him the ball once in a while. Having him start with our back up quarterback in (let's see what ole BJ has left in the tank), i think we can expect a rough transition as he and Owens see who can whine the loudest for the few possible touches that will come their way for the next few weeks. oh well, at least there's sure to be some interesting side stories to follow while we're getting our collective tail handed to us for the next month.

Dallas sucks for 1000 reasons : 1)quarterback throws like he works out too much 2) team sucks cause they smell 3) the only chance they have to win is to totally disgust people because the kind of ball they play is part high school, part high school dance team 4) they are uglier than sin and if they saw me. . . they would kill themselves. :)

This is good news for dallas. Defenses will have serious trouble covering them both somebody should be open they have a lot of talent on offense they got a speed burner in williams. I cant figure out the lions though on this one yes they get draft picks. But letting go a gamebreaker wide receiver he can change the game by himself and if he gets the ball he has the potential to score a TD every time. Williams must have wanted to be traded well i guess u cant blame him they seem to lose every year. They are 0-5 now and only the bengals are worse at this point 0-6. Maybe Chad Johnson will want to be traded next fanhouse?

The Pathetic Lions got even worse if that was possible. They of course will squander their draft picks as they always do. Even when the do get lucky and get a good draft pick the team around them is so bad that it hinders the most talented player. I hope the Lions lose every game this and every other season until they get rid of the pathetic bunch of losers who run and own the team.
