This morning, NFL Network's Adam Schefter reported that if interim Rams head coach Jim Haslett somehow found a way to win six games this season (which, honestly, is like asking a normal coach of a normal team to go undefeated) he would keep the Rams job. But, hey, it's good to have goals, I guess.
Buried inside Haslett's new Rams contract is a clause that says if he leads the teams to six wins this season - and it will not be easy with upcoming games at Washington, home against Dallas, at New England - then St. Louis will be obligated to keep him as its head coach for next season. ...Well, Haslett's 17-25 percent of the way their, depending on the number of wins he needs to keep the gig for '09. Whatever, the Rams have their first victory of the season, defeating the Redskins in
Now, chances are, if Haslett wins four or five games, and shows the culture in St. Louis has changed, Rams management might retain him for next season anyway. But six wins makes it official - not an easy benchmark for an organization that has won only three of its past 20 games.
Looking at the schedule, five (or, hell, three) more wins look tough to come by, but after watching Rams offensive lineman Richie Incognito singlehandly try to lose the game with various personal foul penalties today, I'd have to think benching him automatically increases St. Louis' chances going forward.

If we can beat the Redskins and give the Bills a game for three quarters, anything is possible. Congratulations Jim and the team. As for the front office, get rid of them and maybe we will will six games this season. As for Incognito, we need to give Greco and Shoenberg a chance to develop. This guy Incognito is trouble. Pull someone out of retirement; Timmerman, anyone.

P.S. We have only played one division game so far. WE can actually win the division if we get rid of the damn front office. They can't run the team from LA. And they couldn't run it if they were in SL every day anyway. Give Haslett a chance.

We beat the Redskins and hung with the Giants and Bills until well into the second half. This team has what it takes to win games. The remainder of the schedule seems daunting but I see a three game winning streak on the immediate horizon.
The Cowboys without Romo are going to be a different team and the Patriots without Brady have already shown to be a different team. After that, we still have sorry Frisco twice and the lowly Seahawks towards the end of the year. That gives us six wins.
The Bears and Dolphins aren't exactly tearing it up either so we could shoot for a .500 season to give us something to build on for next year.

Congrads to Haslett, and the RAMS,
I have to admit, I was not high on Coach Haslett, but love to be proved wrong. He seems to be taking in lessons learned from his previous stint, and may put something good together here. Still don't agree with staying with Bulger, again, talented kid, I won't lie, just don't like him, but, he played well, and defeated an age old enemy, so I aplaud his effort, and we will leave it at that. Yeah, think Washington plays on the same old field where they once beat us 51-7 in a playoff game, Thier beloved Joe Gibbs, running up the score for no reason, leaving all the starters in and punishing us, I remember it was 40 something to 7 in the fourth, so thier would be no Frank Reich type combacks. It made me laugh when I heard complaining from Washington , and posibly Gibbs himself about the PATS(still cheating lowlives, but anyway....)running up that score, maybe it wasn't Gibbs, but if it was, some nerve huh?. To wrap things up, I'll bet every skins fan in the countries jaw dropped to the floor when Brown nailed that field goal as time expired. That Avery is looking darn good too, a good replacement for low life Isaac Duesh, oh, escuse me, I mean Bruce. Well was good to see us knock of the skins, man, they must have been high, and mighty going into that one, bet they thought they would tag 40 pts on us, har, har.....the D" looked good, seemed like more blitzing, I like that. THE RAMMY WHAMMY IS BACK? Scott(SGJINKS)

Well, we are 2/3 of the way through our 3 game winning streak (as I previously predicted on post #4). Redskins down, Cowboys down and we're off to the northeast to take on the Pats. Hopefully the Red Sox lose tonight and the Rams beat the Pats next week in Foxboro to make it a miserable end of October in New England!!
OK RAMS, TIME TO GO TO WORK!!!
