The Houston Texans are a 0-4 team that could easily be 2-2 if they weren't so snake bit. Three of four on the road, with a Hurricane Ike-imposed bye in week 2.
They have lost in so many strange ways this season, that I don't think anything could surprise me. I mean, look at the above video from last week. It was like a remake of the movie Predator, with Gary Kubiak playing the Schwartzenegger guy and with the backup quarterback Sage Rosenfels playing the role of the uh Rosenchappa.
Typically, the Texans play much better at home, and played better at home last Sunday, except for that last 4 minute thingy. The Texans offense has looked much more on track, especially for the last two games, and well, the defense looks still not so good, but better when the offense doesn't give away the ball.
The key matchup will be to see whether the Texans offense will be able to move the ball against the Dolphins 3-4. The Texans offense has struggled some against the 3-4 this year (Cowboys preseason, Steelers week one, both on the road). Defensively, the Texans are a young team that often plays hard but not smart, so it will be interesting to see what they do with the prospects of Dolphin trickery.
Interesting checking out the recent Football Outsider stats on the teams. Ultimately, I think what has hurt the Texans the most all season is that the quarterbacks haven't taken care of the ball. All of the Texans turnovers have come from the QB position. The defense needs all the help they can get, and defending short fields doesn't help.
Interestingly, the Texans are physically in better shape than they were last year at the same time at 2-2. All of their key players are healthy, and they added running back Steve Slaton this year. He's played three starts, and he has been on the ballot of Rookie of the Week three times.
Thanks for the nice comment. I like the owner of the team, so in the long term, I think good things will happen for them. But hopefully not too long term.
Your Texans are indeed "snakebit" right now. I sure thought they had their first "W" last week. I like your defense and and Slaton could be a real find. It's early. The Titans are going to be exposed before long. The Texans were the best 8-8 team in football last year and the best team not to make the playoffs. That hasn't changed. Let's get 'um a win and go from there!

Ps. Be glad you have Jacques Reeves and not Pacman Jones...LOL!
Anyone know his status going into Sunday? Listed as Questionable with mention of precautionary measure. Bottom line, will he start tomorrow? Crucial decision for me this week. Thanks!
Neil -- I think he's going to play, but check the inactives to make sure.
From Roto World -- Roddy White (head) was listed as questionable after missing his second straight practice Friday. On Thursday, White said, "I'm OK. It's no big deal."

Keep your chin up, Steph, Houston isn't that bad of a team. But it does hurt when your team just can't get a break.
Hopefully you won't have to suffer an 18 year drought like we did in NY.
