Plaxico Burress basically has one true road he can take with all this suspension hullabaloo -- either accept the punishment, apologize to teammates and fans, and get ready to play once he's reinstated, or he can just tell people that he's just a football player and they don't have to like him. Yep, I'm going with B.Burress said in a conference call with the media that he has some teammates he is close to, and they contacted him about the suspension, but other than that, nobody should really care.
"I know the people that care about me a lot. My job is to go to work and catch footballs Everybody doesn't have to like me. I don't have to be friends with everybody. Everybody has a role to play, everybody has a job to do. My job is to get on the field and catch footballs."Well, actually, your job is to go on the field and catch footballs as well as not ditch out on a workout day without a phone call. That is what is called "being on a team" and unless Plax is thinking about getting some tennis lessons fairly soon, these rules will stick around.
No matter if you stuff shelves at Wal-Mart, teach high school English in San Francisco, or (shudders at the thought) are forced to write snide, unfunny comments for a blog, when you are told to do something you either do it or let someone know you can't so they can plan accordingly. If I'm going in for quintuple bypass surgery at 24, I sure hope the doc is around and if not, I hope one of his doctor friends has an extra couple of hours.
There really isn't anything to worry about, though, because Plaxico said if something comes up again, he will almost certainly call in and let someone know.
"There's no telling what may happen. There may be a time where I'll have to be spontaneous again. Will I make the same decision? Yes. Will I handle the situation a little better? Yes, I'll put in a phone call. I can't say what's going to happen. I can't predict the future."So Mr. Burress, why did you tell me that time in New York that you were psychic? I knew you couldn't be trusted.

Allow me to help Plaxico predict the future. If he continues to be trouble he will get "Shockeyed." This is not Dallas where spoiled brats simply say and do what they please.
A case could be made that the Giants have a more balanced offense without him.

Plaxico paid the price of not being a team player.I believe that bec ause of this situation he will be a better team player.
he is not a big mouth like TO and really is modest but can be emational.

The Giants (MY BOYS) are doing well because they FINALLY are playing as a team! I feel it and it is a shame that Mr Burress is not acting like a GIANT and a member of the team. He IS replaceable, just ask shockley, who thought he could never be replaced and the Giants went on to the superbowl WITHOUT him. Straighten up Mr Burress, or you too can be playing on another team. It be a shame to loose you, but you too are replaceable. WE as fans only expect you to show up and play the game.......yes, we don't have to like you but we do expect you to do your job and do it well and show up when you are expected to. Don't taint a great team.....I hate bad headlines about MY BOYS, THE NY GIANTS......and it upsets me very much when the team suffers because of one player.
SHAPE UP MR BURRESS, OR WE WILL SHIP YOU OUT!!!!
A VERY LOYAL NY GIANTS FAN IN VIRGINIA!!!!

How exactly has Burress not been a good teammate and loyal to the team? You mean when he called out Eli for not getting him the ball? Oh wait, he didn't do that. You mean when he criticized the coaches and play-calling when he only got a handful of catches against Dallas in the playoffs? Oh wait, he didn't do that either. Hmmm, oh let's see - when he dogged his routes and didn't have his head in the game? Ooops - he didn't do that either.
What he DID do, in spite of all the reported fines during his tenure in Blue, was to play in pain over two seasons (without practicing), totally dominate his defender in the NFC Championship game, and NEVER questioned or called out his QB or coach.
Also keep in mind that it wasn't Burress who leaked the information about the exorbitant amount of fines. It was someone else in the organization. How about THAT for being loyal???
Here's another thing: before finding out about the fines and the public only knew about his latest infraction, would people be trying to ship him off so soon?
Last one: Reese and Co. knew about PB's penchant for missing appointments with the team - yet they still gave him another contract. Something to think about when people mention him being a cancer on the team. Do you really think he would have gotten a new contract if TC really thought PB was a problem in the locker room?
ALL HAIL THE NEW YORK GIANTS!!!

Ok, GIANTS ARE THE DUMBEST TEAM IN THE WORLD. Plax is the best and only the best. Hes tall, fast, catches. What else could you ask for on the field. Whats going to happen if he misses one workout. The worst that can happen is he misses a little talk about stuff he already knows. I say if the Giants EVER want to win again you better bring Plax back or u will never get another W.
P.S.- unless you play the Bengals

Everyone needs to lay off of Burress. He has been underpaid for along time and deserves some of the royal treatment. Everyone is quick to say he isn't needed, but lets not forget, we played a weak seattle team. Without him in our offense we will face better teams who can stack 8 players in the box and shut down our additional WR with man coverage. I'm not saying what he did was right, but come on! other players have done worst and suffered less penalties for doing it (Steve Smith).
Lets not add fuel to the fire and allow our team to stay on track!

WHO CARES ABOUT A PRIMA DONA. FROM WHAT I HEAR, HE'S BEEN LATE OVER SIXTY TIMES. THEY SHOULD'VE SHIPPED HIM OUT WHEN THEY GOT RID OF SHOCKLEY. THEY BOTH AREN'T TEAM PLAYERS;AND THIS IS A SPORT WHERE YOU NEED EVERYBODY ON THE SAME PAGE. BILL PARSELL WOULD'VE GOT RID OF HIM IN A NEW YORK MINUTE.
