After the Miami Dolphins used direct snaps to Ronnie Brown to score four touchdowns against the New England Patriots two weeks ago, you'd figure that every NFL team would have worked on defending such a play. You'd really expect the team who the Phins would face next to have spent a few minutes on it.
Maybe not, as the Dolphins had another direct snap to Brown who scored another TD. That score capped off an 11-play, 79 yard drive. They've used it several other times to pick up first downs.
If you didn't remember, Brown rushed for four TDs against the Pats -- three of which were on direct snaps. On another direct snap to Brown, he faked the run and threw a TD pass.
The entire NFL was talking about how well Tony Sparano and his Miami staff gameplanned in that game. Those same people were then saying that there is no way this can happen again as every other team will prepare for it. I guess not.
Miami currently has a 17-3 lead over the Chargers as they are nearing halftime.

The Chargers did prepare for it.
They aren't stupid. They knew the Dolphins would run these plays. Just last week they played the Raiders who also run plays with direct snaps to McFadden.
This is their second week playing a team that is known to run direct snaps, so they definitely prepared for it.
Maybe the Dolphins should be given some credit.
The formation obviously creates problems for defenses, and Ronnie Brown is looking like a really good player at the moment.

The sad truth for Charger fans is that all that anger last year about Storman Norman was well based. He had the peak of his career last year, and will take the Chargers south with each year he is there. If left in charge, San Diego will in time boarder Brazil. His teams are always lifeless and often clueless. He gets less from talent than anyone other than Al Davis.....once a team made for each other. Injuries hit all teams....talent levels are pretty close...the difference is in game planning and "fire in their bellies"...and in these areas Turner is in way over his head. He wasted the Charger's talent edge last year, and now leads them to mediocrity. Want proof? Look at their lifeless performance equaled in value only by unimaginative schemes.
