Scott Linehan has been fired as the head coach of the St. Louis Rams, and Jim Haslett has been hired as his replacement on an interim basis. The firing was made early this morning, according to multiple media outlets. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reported that Haslett will get the top job.
After the Rams lost to the Bills yesterday, everyone -- including Linehan himself -- expected the firing to come today. The Rams are off to an 0-4 start and are almost universally regarded as the worst team in the league.
Linehan's two-plus seasons as Rams head coach ends with an 11-25 record. Haslett, who has been the Rams' defensive coordinator throughout Linehan's tenure as head coach, had a 46-52 record as head coach of the New Orleans Saints from 2000 to 2005.

Why do teams fire the head coach, then replace him with another coach who has shown he cant win the big games either?I think some owners need to go.Al Davis,Jerry jones, who coaches from his luxury box,to name two.

Haslett....will be a terrible coach...he is no better than Linehan.
Rams owner is an idiot...he knew Linehan stunk...and he should have replaced him with a quality coach...not with the defensive coordinator Haslett who currently has the worst defense in the NFL.

I agree with Jim. I don't care how much he costs. Give Cower enough money to lure him out of the tv work. The Rams players are soft. The recievers catch the ball and fall down because they are afraid to get hit. No yeards after the catch. Hire Cower, Skip!!!

John, and Skip,
Hey fellow RAM fans! Yes, I completely agree, Cowher should be the guy. You make him a "godfather" type offer to come in. But keep in mind, like with someone like the "TUNA", he will probablly be president/gm/coach, you know the deal. He aint comming to the RAMS with John Shaw looming around over him, believe me, we never get those "COWHER" type guys with Shaw there. Maybe you could get a Shottenhiemer in there, if Shaw doesn't retire, or Chip doesn't flat out sell. I could see Marty there. Sound guy, will bring us back to respectability. If you question if he could get a team over the hump to the next level, that in all fairness to him just can't be answered, he lost a game at 14-2 in the division round to a team, that we now know was allways cheating(THE PATS), and this man lost his job over it, how far would he(and the Chargers) have went that season?, we can never know, but the monkey wrench the PATS cheating and dirty tactics on D"(ask the Colts, and us about the 5 yard rule fiasco!)has thrown into the NFL over the last 7-8 seasons is mind boggling, but I won't go too much into that right now. Well, new coach, yes, out with Jeff George Jr(BULGER), yes. It will be a start, but who ever takes over for next season has his work cut out for him, there are three players left from the greatest show days, and all three have been slowed by injuries as of late, they are getting up there in age, and the way we have drafted, well, it has to be the worst in the NFL since Vermeil left, so you do the math, I think many of us may still be under the impression that there is more talent here than there actually is(this really fueling the distain for Linehan), as talented players left in droves over the past few years, combined with bad drafting not replacing them, we got a heck of a mess here. Someone has got a heck of a rebuilding project. Man, one of the people "STILL" responable for this mess is that fat headed Martz, I want to get tickets to fly out there for the NINER game, I just wish I could bean him in his fat head with a rotten egg, you know, everyone in the stadium should bring a rotten egg in that day, a couple thousand people throwing rotten eggs at him, Bruce and Bulger too! The three evil pricks! Scott(SGJINKS) "THE RAMMY WHAMMY WILL BE BACK!"

Listen to me Ram's Managers, if you want to turn this team around and make it back to the Superbowl! You go out and get Bill Cowler as Head Coach. You need someone to get these players playing for their jobs and Bill is a no nonsense coach. The Ram's players are way to soft and need to be scared when they come back to the sidelines, knowing Bill is going to hold them accountable for their whimpy play.

YES!! The Rams are the BEST team in the NFL. It's hard to win games when you have a horrible coach. Haslett may be better.. maybe not. If not then hopefully he'll be fired as well and we can get a decent coach in there. If so.. We're turnin it around!! 12-4 season isnt too bad..
