For whatever reason, the big star in the middle of the Cowboys' stadium is considered some sort of sacred ground. I don't really get it, but then a lot of what makes Texas spin crazily around kind of bypasses me too.
Of course, I do understand that when someone wins and they do a little dance in my face on my home field, I get a little teed. So I kind of see where Tank Johnson is coming from. Then again ... maybe Jim Zorn and Jason Campbell just finally arrived.
Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Tank Johnson had to be restrained after return specialist Rock Cartwright stood on the 50-yard line star at Texas Stadium yesterday as he celebrated Washington's 26-24 victory.
"This is how it is. When you win, you win with class. When you lose, you lose with class," Johnson said. "One of their guys, Cartwright, took it upon himself to celebrate on our star.
"It's the fourth game of the season. No one has accomplished anything but a win. That's just disrespectful and I don't think we'd do that to them. And I'm surprised he did that to us."
Totally understandable. Tank is, after all, a Cowboy 4 Life (unlike, say, Terrell Owens, who is not a "true Cowboy"). Or not. Whatever. Cartwright pointed out that he wasn't exactly dancing on the star a la T.O., and that he merely wanted to hang out with everyone at the center of the field.
Here's the thing: even if Cartwright did stand there and shimmy on the star for a few minutes, well, big freaking deal. This is a major rivalry, both teams hate one another and when the underdog pulls a big upset on the heavily favored Cowboy superpower in their last game at the stadium, you can expect this sort of thing.

Wow... Tank Johnson is a complete idiot. This is such a huge rivalry and they hate each other!... or do they?
It seems as if there are only players here and there on these teams that actually look at this as a "mini superbowl" anymore.. I know the fans do! Redskins and Dallas fans really can't stand one another and I can only wish that the rivalry between the players could be the same as it used to be.
The comment that Johnson made... made him seem like a baby! They lost! Rock is awesome and has a right to dance on the star!... there is no respect between these two teams.. or at least I don't think there should be.
Greatest rivalry in all-time.
If I was there I would have risked being caught by security and danced on the star myself! What's there to lose? It's not like we are playing there anymore.

The greatest rivalry of all time? Its not even the greatest rivalry in their division. Eagles vs Cowboys is much more exciting. Don't put the Redskins on a pedestal because their being mentioned in the same sentence as the Cowboys! Your a joke Donnie, not to mention the other Skins fans here who actually think they have a chance of going to the Superbowl...

Rock is totally awesome. Maybe if you showed some respect to the role players on your team instead of just feeding the ball to the asshole who truly disrespected the star you would have won the game! OHHHHH that's right! Hey, do you all even still celebrate that beautiful smack down that was laid upon Mr. Suicide when he disrespected you in your house? Or are you so proud of him for winning you all those playoff games (how many have you won recently? How many have the Redskins? Oh that is right it is 0 to 1) and his post game crying fits that you have forgiven him for that indiscretion? Your team is a bunch of worthless criminal big talent no substance losers. And I say they are losers because they lose.
P.S. Rock Cartwright is the man, all Redskins fans love him. If you can't handle that, maybe you need to learn what it means to be a fan.

A member of the Cowboys talking about class; now there's a contradiction in terms! How classy was it for you to spend time in the clink, Tank? After the long list of criminals, drug abusers, drug traffickers, wife beaters, etc. that Dallas has employed over the years, how do any of them have any business uttering the word "class"? Ever? Then there's Pacman, who just wants to be a criminal, but doesn't have the cajones to do anything that's all that bad. And it was really classy when Barry Switzer tried to take a handgun on an airliner. Finally, there's "the player", who has been kicked out of two NFL locker rooms for being a donkey. By the way, Tank, have you talked to "the player" about HIS little dance on the star? I hear Jerry Jones is trying to line up Mike Vick and Rae Carruth when they get out. Maybe he'll talk OJ out of retirement, too.

Shawn, Cowboys-Eagles isn't a great rivalry. Redskins-Cowboys is the oldest, most intense rivalry in sports, right up there with Duke-UNC. Cowboys-Eagles...don't make me laugh. Win a super bowl then maybe you can be mentioned in the same breath as the Cowboys and Redskins. I hate the Cowboys but at least they have rings. What do the Eagles have? No ring, and a bunch of scumbag fans.
Q: What do you call an Eagle with a Super Bowl ring?
A: The police, it's stolen.

Tank should put a hit out on Cartwright thru one of his gangsta/thug buddies. Or maybe Tank can take care of it himself. I hear he has quite a gun collection...

Wow a Cowboy player talking about another team having no class. Please, the Cowboys have no class at all. They will sign any player regardless of his class, so they shouldn't be surprised if someone else does the same thing. Also if you don't want a team to do that, then win they game like you were supposed to. With all the l classless people the Cowboys have had over the years, T.O, Irvin, Jimmy Johnson, and Pac Man Jones among others, they have no right to talk about class. Irvin pushed off every play and no one complained about that. Shut up and play Tank Johnson.

Perhaps the new Cowbaby stadium can be built with an electronic overhead projector so that they can project the star onto the center of the field and turn it off whenever the opposition approaches that spot after a non Cowbaby score.
