Texas Stadium has been a house of horrors for the Washington Redskins. Coming into today's contest, the Redskins have lost 26 of their 35 games at Texas Stadium ... including 11 of the last 12. That made the Redskins 26-24 win over the Dallas Cowboys tonight all the sweeter. This is most likely the final time these two bitter rivals will meet on that field.
Santana Moss is moving himself higher and higher in Redskins lore. He'll hate to see Texas Stadium go as he put up eight catches for 145 yards and was virtually unguardable in the first half. Since the Cowboys had to concentrate on him, guys like Chris Cooley and Antwaan Randle El started getting open and holes started opening up for Clinton Portis.
Jim Zorn is new to this whole thing so he doesn't see it as a big win over a longtime rival. He sees it as the coming out party for him, his team and his quarterback. Zorn's playcalling was outstanding and Jason Campbell just exuded confidence. This is a far cry from the last time they were on national TV when the offense looked lost against the Giants on Week 1.
And shame on you morons for failing to believe in the Z-man.
Yes, the offense looked great but the game ball has to go to that defense. The Redskins did an outstanding job disrupting pretty much everything Tony Romo and Dallas wanted to do. Romo's stat line does say he had 300 yards passing and three touchdowns, but it took him 47 pass attempts to get there. Washington shut down Marion Barber (26 yards) and did a better than usual job bottling up Terrell Owens.
Dallas' offense has been used to having an easy time moving the ball. That just wasn't the case tonight.
Get this, folks: the Redskins have actually won five of their last seven with the Cowboys. Tony Romo is 23-9 as a starter. He's also just 1-3 against Washington. This isn't just some lucky fluke.
Now the Skins get to head to another tough NFC East game when they visit the Philadelphia Eagles. Dallas stays home to lick their wounds against the toothless Bengals.

Sports Assassin,
When you say "shame on you morons" you are talking about yourself right? I told you four days ago when you picked the Skins to lose, again, that you sir are not a Redskin Fan. I told you the Skins would win this game! You sir need to look at yourself in the mirror and decide if your a sports fan or a Redskin Fan! The Skins still left points on the field today they will get even better! Go Skins!
Hail

BigBird, the officiating was completely fair. If the officials weren't there, we would've done even better, since they called us for holding and ineligible player downfield on two of our touchdown plays. Feel fortunate you had the officials you did - we would've beaten you by even more if they didn't call those penalties.

What plays do you want to blame on the officials?? I'm a Cowboys fan and the better team won today. Romo wasn't himself today
completing 28 passes and missing on 19.

the officiating went both ways...just happend the the cowgirls couldn't overcome them and the skins were able to...PLENTY of penaltys were left on the field and only a few were called

How did the refs take the game away from the cowgirls???????? They only had two penalties all game and one was because they had 12 guys on the field. It's not the refs fault that the cowgirls can't count to 11 after a timeout. The refs kept them in the game by not calling the holds they were doing. Also if your a cowgirl fan why are you on this website anyway.

Jake,
If you click the link, you will understand that I was talking about myself.
That link goes to a post I made where I was angry with Zorn and the Redskins offense. The "morons" definitely refers back to me.
And shame on me for not picking the Redskins to win the game. I should have bet my entire life savings on the game like you did.

Kudos to the Skins for today's upset, but I was really cheering for them as an old Seattle fan... I watched Jim Zorn back in the day, when he was Seattle's starting QB, and appreciated his work as a QB coach in Seattle, and, oh yes, I wanted him to win his first game against the Boys. Terrific game by Washington, terrific preparation by Jimmy and his staff. His most emotional regular season game is yet to come, when he leads his new team to Qwest Field in Seattle.

The Redskins BARELY beat our Cowboys. All those chumps did was tie themselves and the Cowboys. The Reds and the Boys maybe blood letting rivals but they are no true match for us. How long ago was their last win against the Cowboys? Don't kid yourselves.

hey jvw, the reason they had no balance was because they were getting their asses handed to them and had to pass to keep up, and when they did run they couldnt run, quit with the excuses, the skins scalped the little boys in big d today which makes it 5 out of the last 7 games against the boys

Just like the Philly game, the offense's faults made it very hard for the defense to hold the Skins down. We all know that the defense is not the headliner of the team. Why wasn't there any sweeps, dinks, dunks, or Felix Jones. Barber wasn't working that well when they tried him, so do you abandon the run? Hell no! The game wasn't that far away. And, if Barber couldn't beat them with the brawn (Skins were over-powering today or the Boys were weak) why not try Felix Jones for some manuevering and speed capabilities? I mean WTF!!! What it comes down to is the coaching lost the game today, as well as many poor plays on offense. It's not going to be an easy schedule so I suggest that you take it easy after the season is over. Please come back to reality.

As a lifelong Skins fan (been watching since the Sonny and Billy days!) I would never bet against the Skins. Matter of fact I was only 1 of 2 people that picked them in my pool. Best part is it put me out of reach, not going to Monday night tie breaker!

The 'Boys played poorly; were out coached and out played; that being said, as far as the Redskins owning anybody, HA! The only thing they own are seats during the playoffs, year in and year out they choke. Washington is one team that truly is irrelevant, so any win is a big deal. No matter how they try they'll never be in the same class as the Cowboys!
