If it seems like we've had a lot of Al Davis news around here lately, it's because we have. And there's a very good reason for that. The reason, of course, is that Davis is crazy, and perhaps a little paranoid. The latest piece of craziness comes from a report by Michael Lombardi at National Football Post, where Lombardi claims Lane Kiffin (still employed, as of 7:51 this evening) was set to do an interview with Adam Schefter of the NFL Network. That is, until Davis found out about it.
In light of the recent public relations move by the Raiders this past weekend, head coach Lane Kiffin agreed to do an interview with the NFL Network. But when Adam Schefter showed up in Buffalo to tape the interview he was told that it had been cancelled.Perhaps Davis didn't want Kiffin to let the cat out of the bag and expose the company secret that the Raiders aren't the most functional and organized outfit in the NFL. Or, perhaps Davis was afraid Schefter would ask a question that John Hererra didn't like, prompting the Raiders' executive to burst into the room and hit Schefter over the head with a folding chair, WWE style.

Al Davis is a has been, washed up pathetic joke of a man. A goof ball and a coward who is the laughing stock of the NFL. The league should boot his gutless dumb butt out of the league! Run a vote on line and I bet you 90% of Oakland would throw his worthless, no backbone, sniveling cry baby dried up old corpse out!

I'm a Charger fan, but I have to admire Al Davis's work ethic. Dude still runs the team by himself even though he died almost twenty years ago. I wonder if Ken Stabler is the last Horcrux...

I've been a Raider fan for 35 yrs. Had season tickets when they were in Los Angeles. I admire "Uncle Al" for all he's done for the sport and the league...HOWEVER, as another reader stated, he is "now" a pathetic, washed-up, lunatic! He needs to retire and perhaps let the coaches coach and let the players play. Al Davis was instrumental in creating the Super Bowl after he had a hand in forming the NFL from 2 separate leagues. I admire was he has done (in the past) but the dude's got to go now. As a footnote: He should've kept John Gruden!!

Let's just assume the probability that San Diego puts a fierce beat-down on the Raidas. And then let's assume that Granny Davis fires Kiffin as a result. Who in the world would replace him? I don't think there's even a high school coach that would want that job.

I've been a Raider fan since 1967. Al Davis has done a lot for the NFL but I hope he doesn't fire this coach because the players seem to like him. Al needs to go away and hire someone to run the team (not Matt Millen) in a kinder, gentler way.
He has always wanted the Heisman's winner and the team did draft some good kids and I like the quarterback they have now but someone else needs to handle the decisions.
Go Black Hole!

This was a bonehead move. You can't expect a man to become a headcoach and become instantly successful so early. Especially considering that this is the Oakland Raiders and that Lane Kiffin doesn't have all the experience in the world. You have to give him time to develop chemistry between himself and the team. Al is an idiot for putting him in this position if he wasn't sure that Lane was the guy for his team. Final verdict - Al = an idiot.. Some one please get him out of the NFL. He is an embarrassment to the NFL.

I'm not a Raider fan, but I am a football fan. I feel for all those crazy fans in Oakland. It's time to get rid of Al Davis, he is washed up. He needs to take a permanent break away from the game.
Today's press release was a joke and an embarrassment to the NFL.
Al Davis! Get Out of Football!

I'm not a Raider fan but Al Davis is screwing this team over. Everytime it seems this team gets a descent coach, win a few games, and as soon as a game is lost, doesn't matter if it's 3w to 1, the coach is a screwup. Al is obviously scenile, and almost died halfway through his interview. He needs to let his coaches do their job, and stop dropping no name never heard of coaches into the team. If he has a complaint about a 3-1 score, he needs to step in like he did with the Chargers, and be the coach of this team. Hang in there Raider fans...

The NFL commisioner's off should explore the possibility of
taking over the Radiers, as recent incidents and incidents over
the past 10 years relating to the Raiders is causing the NFL's
image to be impaired.Ethically, Al Davis has ben allowed to
behave unethically in numerous instances which tarnishes the
NFL's image. When players behave in a similar manner, the
league imposes penalties or take disciplinary action as appropriate. Commisioner please investigate Mr Davis's behavior, as implications of double standard currently exists.
If you need validation on my claim, please contact Marcus Allen, Shanahan, Lane Kiffin, Rich Gannon, Grudden,Norv Turner, and former players that we unfairly treated. Commisioner please STOP THIS MAVERICK !!!!
