Remember last week, how I noted that the Detroit Lions had developed a new habit of falling behind 21-0 at the start of games? Well, I've got good news, Detroit fans: The Lions are getting better. Instead of falling behind 21-0 at the start of games, they're down just 21-3 right now, in the second quarter of their game at the San Francisco 49ers. At this rate, the Lions should be playing competitive football some time around Week 16.
And, of course, while I'm kidding about Lions President Matt Millen signing a 10-year contract extension, it actually would make perfect sense: Millen says the Lions simply need to stay the course, and Lions owner William Clay Ford has made clear that he has complete confidence in Millen's leadership. This team will be this terrible as long as Ford is alive.

"just another bump" on the road to a no-win season. Too bad Jon Kitna didn't leave with Mike Martz and join a real team.
The Detroit Lie-downs are pathetic. Only a few players belong in the NFL, the coaches are terrible, and the mismanagement just got a 10 year extension.
Another 10 years of a mess.

10 years? The Lions are the Cubs of the NFL. The Cubs have not won a championship for 90 something years, I figure that leaves about 50 years to go. Oh, that is right the Cubs have not won yet. Oh why even bother.

All that I can say is that Matt Millen AND William Ford must both be republicans.....There is just no accountability for their incompetence.....

First of all I don't know how Matt Millen has kept his job since he took over the franchise. This start of 0-3 is ridiculous. Lions can't even beat a top 25 NCAA Football team right now if they tried. The coaching has been poor and I say that because the players are playing all like Rookies who have never stepped on the field before. The Lions have given up well more than 100 points in the first 3 games. Kitna is a backup QB and gaurantees an interception every game that is costly. Like last week, 2 int's returned for touchdowns. Are you kidding me? The Lions need to pass the ball first and make use of their Matt "MILLIONS" of dollars at the wide receiver position. The Lions have one of the best receiveing core in the NFL with Johnson, Williams, Furrey, Mcdonald and the Lions are struggling to get these guys the football. Maybe if the Lions went to a No Huddle Offense right when the game starts, maybe they will play with some urgency and desire to play football and put some points on the board. Maybe the Lions should seriously consider looking into a QB that could throw the ball, why not bring Culpepper out of retirement, look at Favre! Culpepper played with passion and determination and was not afraid of putting the ball in the air. The Lions need to take some chances and change their game plan because whatever scouting report the opposing team has, obviously it is a gauranteed win. The Lions are so predictable on offense, it is kind of sad when my young sister is calling out the play before it happens. First down run, Second down pass, Third down run, Fourth down punt! With the season already pretty much wrapped up after week 3, the Lions have a whole lot of patches to fill on both sides of the ball and in the office before this team will start winning. The Lions do not have Barry Sanders to give them the edge, the Lions need 110 percent from every player and coaching staff just to make the game close. Winning is an attitude! If you do not have a winning mentality, you will not win! Honestly, after today, I am ashamed to be a Lions Fan. Just lose every game so you can grab a TOP NUMBER 10 draft pick like the LAST 10 Years, which about 5 of those were receivers. Hopefully a Lions player will read this somehow and share it with the rest of the team. This coming from a devoted fan that just so happens to live in California, thats how u know I am a true fan.
