The Kansas City Chiefs called the Cleveland Browns last week and inquired as to whether the Browns would consider trading their backup quarterback, Brady Quinn. The Browns told the Chiefs that Quinn, whom they chose in the first round of last year's draft, isn't going anywhere. The news, first reported by Jay Glazer on Fox (via PFT), calls into question whether the Chiefs have any faith in Brodie Croyle as their quarterback of the future, and whether the Browns have any faith in Derek Anderson as their quarterback of the future.
The Browns seem to believe that Quinn will be their starter some day relatively soon, even though Anderson is just 25 years old and had a Pro Bowl season in 2007. As for the Chiefs, they might already be thinking about the 2009 draft, which doesn't look like it's going to be a good one for quarterbacks, and wondering if they ought to make a move now that will prevent them from having to reach for a quarterback in April.

Smart move by the Browns. Anderson might have gone to the Pro Bowl last year, but he's not the best QB on the team. Anderson had four good games last season against sub-par opponensts. Since then, he has a QB rating lower than Tim Couch. The sooner Quinn plays, the better. Now, if KC wants Anderson, that's another story!!!

The stupid Chiefs should have inquired about Favre when things were up in the air about him-I don`t know whether he would have considered it ,but it would be worth a shot --KC coaches are too stupid and should get their heads out of their butts!!! They were supposedly content with the QB`s they had at the time, but I could have told them just from being to a couple of their games and watching them on TV that what they had wasn`t squat!!! They should pay me a 1/4 of the money they`re paying Herm and let me coach the damn team!!

We dont need a has been on the team, we need something we can build around. Assuming Farve is a good fit in KC shows your ignorance.

Note to David Michaels: Hmmm, let's see, 10 victories for the Browns last year, Anderson starts all but one. Yep, your math sure holds up, four good games for him last year. And, oh yeah, the Browns have to retain overpaid Ken Dorsey, the third string qb, because the management still feels Brady doesn't have a "good grasp" of the playbook after nearly two years. Anything else? Oh yeah, opponents is spelled just that way. Take the cotton out of your ears, stick it in your mouth, and get your facts straight, there, Mike.

D.A. should have been traded at the end of last year when he had some worth, guess what, Andersons worth is exactly ZERO now and they couldn't get squat for him now!
This season is LOST and the Browns need to put Brady Quinn in NOW and prepare for next year or the 2010 season.
Sheesh, doesn't anyone know anything about Sports anymore ?

I have been a lifelong fan of the Chiefs, and I remember in the early 80's going up to the stadium on sunday morning and buying good tickets to that days game. But I really dont ever remember seeing a coaching staff this bad. Herm Edwards pride prevents him from making even fair decisions, and while his pride may still be in tact, all of ours as fans have been gutted like a fish. Mr. Clark Hunt I beg you, please, please, cut our losses now and remove Carl Peterson and Herm Edwards before we sink even further below our (not so ) glory days of the early 80's.

I am a Browns Fan living in Steeler country. Please get Romeo and Anderson out of there. Pay them off or what ever. Get Brady in now. Oh by the way, bless those offence and defensive linemen who are playing their hearts out and give those poor talented receivers a chance to get the job done. I want to fill proud or at least respectable for being a Browns fan when I walk into a room full of Steeler jerseys and me with my Browns jersery on.
