Denny Green is what we all thought he was -- you knew it was coming, so you should have braced yourself early -- a retired football coach. And, according to what he said on Sporting News radio yesterday (as transcribed by Larry Brown Sports), he is going to stay that way.
Stews: "It's obvious that some time during the course of the year, Lane Kiffin is probalby going to be dismissed from his job. If that happens and your phone rings and the caller ID says 'Al Davis,' do you answer that phone call, Coach?"Good for Denny, insomuch as he appears to be able to recognize another horrible coaching situation that he has no business stepping into. Seriously, think about it: Lane Kiffin is still employed, the Raiders are 1-1 and effectively not the worst team in the NFL, and we're asking unemployed people if they'd be interested in a job opening.
Green: "No I do not."
I'm not saying people should leave Kiffin alone and and let him work, I'm just pointing out that Green would have to be both desperate and crazy to think about taking the Oakland gig at this point. Besides, he's making enough cash off his catch phrase to do just fine, thank you.

all of us that have been following football have been waiting for this type of information to confirm that the owner al davis is a senile old sob that needs to be removed from his position as whatever his tittle is no one and i mean no one in their right mind would go and coach for this sob, good for him cause thats what he deserves ,so now what ,what can he do ,there isnt enuogh money in the world to bribe a coach to come and coach for this looser,they are the laughing stock of the nfl,and if you look real close you can see that logo of the raider is turning into a CLOWN ,hahahahaha so now we can call them the oakland clowns,also if you look at their fans they can put on a CLOWN suit hahahahaha what ajoke

Well maybe Jim Mora is still available. Molson/Coors has to cut costs during this period of economic instability. Marty Shottenheimer would take the gig if people don't throw AA batteries at him. Matt Millen/Mike White as a shared responsibility? Kinda like head coaching job by committee.
