On Sunday, FanHouse's Will Brinson pointed out that there was something a little strange on the personal blog of Washington Redskins tight end Chris Cooley: A picture of his playbook -- sitting in the lap of a naked man, with a penis exposed at the bottom of the photo.When it caused a stir -- as pictures of penises tend to do -- Cooley quickly removed the photo from his blog, although it's still available elsewhere on the web. Now Cooley has apologized for posting it:
All apologies from the website. We are very sorry that we showed a penis on our website all day yesterday. That was by no means our intention and we did not want to offend anyone. The picture wouldn't have been up for so long, but we were in the middle of winning a big game. Once again, this was a complete accident and we regret not reviewing the post more closely. Thanks.I'm still not clear on how someone can post a picture of a penis by "complete accident," but I'm prepared to take Cooley at his word and believe that he is, in fact, very sorry that he showed a penis. I guess he'll be more careful next time.

Cooley needs to chill a little. I'm sure it's nice to be so popular but some of the things he does bring unwanted attention to the team and could end up hurting the team.

You have to remember that this is the same guy who once posted a check with his banking info still visible on his blog. He is awesome, but doesn't really strike me as a details-oriented guy off the football field.
That said, he is still the man. I hope he continues to keep up with the blog... but maybe stick to the "proofreading before posting" formula set forth by his editor/brother, Tanner.
