We've already chronicled the blown call at the end of the San Diego and Denver game earlier today. It was a horrible botchjob of a call, and Ed Hochuli was dead wrong by blowing his whistle while Jay Cutler was busy fumbling the ball out of bounds.
And clearly Norv Turner, based on his postgame statements, completely agrees with me.
"It was clearly a fumble. Ed came over to me ... and said he blew it, and that to me is not acceptable."Yeah, it was totally unacceptable. But in fairness to Hochuli, at least he had the stones to go up to Turner after the play and tell him that he blew the call.
That doesn't forgive the blown call by any means, and it certainly doesn't put the Chargers in a three way tie with the Broncos and Raiders for the AFC West lead.
However, what it does do is show what a good referee Hochuli is. It's easy to get teed off (see: my rant) about a poor call by a referee, but it's always refreshing to see someone in stripes actually own up to their mistakes.

I do believe that game was finalized wrong. The chargers should have wond dou to the wrong call. They both played good but unfortanately the chargers still should have came out on the top this time . Thanks

How about you take the countless ours of classes, tests and clinics required to become an official (even at a low level) and see how you do.
Strap on the Stripes and see if you're still barking then.
And even then, officials arent even critical of eachother because of the ethics we are charged with for this profession.

i watched that game. Norv has every right to be pissed off even more than that simple statement. Ed Hochulli needs to spend less time doing curls and spend more time with an ophthalmologist. I would check his bank accounts for any funny transactions.

Just like every other Broncos fan. A reason to justify. If the call went against you, I promise it wouldn't have been "...you had 60 min to win." It would have been " ED SHOULD BE FIRED!" I was at the game with the Chargers jersey on and the disrespect shown to me throughout the whole game was an embaressment to the whole Rocky Mountain Region!

If Hochuli truly has "stones" he will suspend himself minimum 2 games and not officiate in any playoff games.
Are Ed Hochuli's stones gonna repay the Chargers if this cost them a home playoff games, and what if this cost them the playoffs period.
