The Kansas City Chiefs lost at home to the lowly Oakland Raiders, and Larry Johnson carried the ball just 12 times. The final time was early in the third quarter.LJ isn't happy about it and ... here ... we ... go ...:
"Something's going on -- I just don't know what it is," Johnson said after a 23-8 loss to Oakland in the Chiefs' home opener. "I'm going to sit down and talk with someone."
"I've been here long enough to know that if I'm not getting the ball, then I'm tired," he said. "If I'm not tired and I'm not getting the ball, something's going on and I've got to deal with it."
"It just didn't happen for me today because of personnel changes," he said. "I've always needed 20-30 carries, that's always been me. It's tough not being able to get into a rhythm."
A couple of things. LJ has always been moody and moods tend to be down when you are 0-2 and just lost at home to Oakland. Also, these are the Kansas City Chiefs!
I know where LJ is coming from: on that offense there isn't much beyond him and he has to feel that feeding him the ball is the best way to win. When Johnson's last carry happened, the Chiefs were only down 13-0 -- plenty of time to get back into the game without abandoning the gameplan.

Well they first got beat by the best team in the league New England and now a very good Defense being Oakland..That team needs allot of help its another team that should scrap everything but I am sure they will have their share of wins. as usual they will beat San Diego atleast once this year..

If LJ would learn to block he could be out on the field more. He isn't running with authority like he used to either. Vermiel told him years ago it was time to take off the diaper and go to work. The old man is still being proved right on by LJ. Learn to block so your QB's don't get knocked out of the games. There needs to be gains on the plays that LJ doesn't carry the ball too.

Larry Johnson needs to stop complaining...and try to win some games...he is soooo worried about getting hurt - he has played like crap since he signed his huge deal last year. He sucked last year and he is going to suck this year because he is a big cry-baby who is scared. I live in KC and I'm so po'd - what a waste.
