The St. Petersburg Times reports about the new scheme to help fans be even more lazy. This season, the Bucs have a solution for those who don't want to confront unruly fans or miss any action: Text message for help.
On Sundays, fans dealing with abusive spectators can text (813) 277-6501 with their problem and location, and a security or law enforcement officer will arrive. "Sometimes people don't want to get up from their seat," said Barbara Casey, Tampa Sports Authority spokeswoman. You know, you're right. (probably NSFW)
Wily fans of opposing teams could use this as a weapon against opposing fans, "GUY IN M.RYAN JERZ IN SEC 112 HAZ G2G." Heck, even fans on message boards or blogs could send unsolicited texts to the above number and wreak havoc on Tampa's finest.
Surely no NFL fan would resort to such tomfoolery, especially not a beer-soaked, foul-mouthed one.
