In February of 1994, when Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding had her hired goons introduce the back of Nancy Kerrigan's knee to a piece of reinforced steel, I don't recall figure skating fans celebrating the occasion in t-shirt form. Then again, maybe they did, I wasn't as up to speed with the world of women's figure skating as I am today (I can't get enough of it).
That's sort of what's happening in the wake of Bernard Pollard's hit on Tom Brady. And while I don't for one second believe Pollard intentionally tried to harm Brady and end his season, there's no doubt legions of Patriots supporters who irrationally disagree. Those that do, probably view Pollard, the no-longer-anonymous Chiefs safety, as some sort of Tonya Harding/Shane Stant monster who should be fined, suspended or banned for life from the NFL.
And then we have this idiot.
Yeah. That's somebody selling a Bernad Pollard fan club shirt, reveling in the fact he ended Brady's season. It's been pointed out that some people took some sense of joy in the news that Brady's season is over, which, naturally makes the Patriots a far weaker team, but this seems to be quite a bit over the top. Substantially over the top, more like it.
Making things worse, the creator of this shirt appears to be a Steelers fan, as evidence by the fact all of the other shirts on the site are Steelers related, the site is entirely in black and gold, and there's a picture of Mike Tomlin at the top of the site dressed like he's Jesus.
As a Steelers fan, this angers me. Greatly.
First, it makes Steelers fans look like a bunch of ancient Romans celebrating in the Colosseum as Nero fed Christians to the Lions, screaming to have their overwhelming thirst for blood quenched (blood!). I'm not going to deny there are Steelers fans like that. Just like I'm not going to deny that when I heard Brady left the game on Sunday that I said, "hey, that helps us out a little but." Make no mistake, however, I don't want to see anybody get hurt. Especially a season-ending injury like that. But, come on. Do we really need the shirts?
The second issue here is, of course, KARMA! You don't mess with karma. I'm sure celebrating the injury of a rival quarterback is something that doesn't sit well with the football gods. Don't mess with karma. This moron not only messed with karma, he walked right up to it and punched it in the face. And then spit on its shoe.
What an idiot.

Football is a sport where you can make a perfectly legal play and still hurt the other player. What does this say about the football watching public? Its a little like the mentality of the car racing fans, hoping for a crash. Sure, all of the fans of the rival teams are glad Tom Brady is out. Does that surprise you?

actually Brady getting hurt is do to karma in and of its self...the ever lasting karma of CHEATING, and being a dead beat father. Brady and the Pats cheated, now are paying for it with karma.
the site is pretty funny, not nearly as funny as watching Randy Moss complain about the hit being dirty, when his team has the more dirty player in the game....Rodney Harrison.

It doesn't suprise me the guy's a Steelers fan. Wasn't it the Steelers that , just a few years ago, took out Carson Palmer on their way to the Super Bowl with a MUCH more blatent shot to the knee? But I do also agree that karma is in play here. Eventually, lack of integrity, poor sportsmanship & just plain class-less behavior will catch up to anybody... even the New England Patriots. I just hope a few teams this year have the balls to run up the score against the Pats aged defense like they did to so many teams last year. The king is dead... long live the king!

I agree It wasn't intentional to hurt Brady. Also, as a Steelers fan, I'm kind of embarrassed by this jerk. Trust me not all Steeler fans are like this. - You get these kind of idiots in all different colors.
As much as i hate Brady, not because how good he is but that he's an arrogant prick, i still would rather have him not hurt.
But i guess what goes around comes around...

I never really understood the basis for calling Tom Brady arrogant or any of the patriots. Last year during the amazing run, sports commentators routinely commented on how humble this team was, so why do fans see something entirely different? I have seen alot of press conferences from Brady, quite frankly I have never seen another team of players or coach give so much credit to their opposing teams both before and after the game.

The shirt is funny. The fact that it's celebrating ending someone's season is not.
I get so sick of hearing about karma and sports. If you really believe in karma (I can't tell if people actually believe it or just throw the word around for fun), then it doesn't take effect until after you die; not the next football game. I prefer to think that the better team wins games. Not the team with the most "good karma". I'll second the "Go Skins".

Very unfortunate that any athlete suffers an injury in which it takes him out of the competition of the game. I personally didn’t think it was a cheap shot, and I’m also neutral about the Patriots and Tom Brady. But when my team plays the Patriots the victory is sweeter and not considered to be “Hollow” if my team wins because the Patriots didn’t have a healthy rooster and had an injured QB called Tom Brady.
If my team loses to the Patriots, it’s because they lacked the talent to win on that given day. If the win, they the victory is that much sweeter because on that day they were a better team. A true Sportsman knows what I’m talking about. If you have to win by a cheap shot, or hit, then your not a real “Man” and when you look in the mirror you know you had to cheat. No Honor in a disgraceful victory.

Hey pats rule, if the last three super bowl winners are the giants colts and steelers, who, exactly, has been getting their "asses kicked for years"?

Thanks for the link to the t-shirt site, I'll be ordering mine today and wearing it during every Patriost game I watch this season (especially Nov 30.) As for KARMA you better believe your "football gods" laid this injury in Belichick and the Patriots lap for running up the score, cheating, tuck rules, jamming receivers, and everything the Patriots have gotten away with.
