Tom Brady Leaves Game After Injuring Leg

Patriots quarterback and defending NFL MVP Tom Brady has injured his left leg early on against the Kansas CIty Chiefs.

He has left the game and gone into the locker room for X-rays. Matt Cassel has replaced Brady.

Brady threw a deep pass to Randy Moss (Moss caught it, fell down, and fumbled the ball) when a Chiefs defender rolled over Brady's lower left leg. Brady went down as he knee bent back and ankle twisted. He stayed on the ground grasping his left leg.

Brady had missed the entire preseason due to a ... well ... some kind of injury to his foot.

More on this story as it develops.

UPDATE: The Patriots confirm it is a knee injury (check out the nastiness here) and his return is Questionable. Yeah, right!

Why do we need to draft another rookie? We've drafted a QB for the past 3 years and we have Cassel, O'Connell and Gutierez (-sp?). Cassel will be just fine but it sure is a good thing that we kept all 5 of the running backs on the roster. Looks like more of a run season than pass but Cassel will do just fine. Brady only had 150 yards in his first game but it was all about game management and Bill Belichick will surely have him and the rest of the team ready. Don't forget, Brady was a 6th round pick and won a SB in his first year of playing. Oh yeah..and now he's been selected to the pro-bowl 4 times, 3 Super Bowl wins and 2 MVP selections. Screw All Of You PATRIOTS Haters!!! Jealousy gets you nowhere and it makes you look stupid.

I personally think it's borderline disturbing that some of you are finding pleasure in the injury of a human being. If the only way your teams can beat the Pats is by having NE players get hurt, then I feel really sorry for you.

Perhaps Matt Cassell will be able to fill in successfully. And hopefully Brady isn't too hurt. Best wishes to Tom on a quick recovery!
