Disastrous news for the New England Patriots.
Yahoo Sports' Michael Silver is reporting that quarterback Tom Brady will miss the rest of the season. Silver's sources indicate that Brady suffered a torn ACL in his left knee on a hit by Bernard Pollard of the Chiefs.
While on NBC's Football Night in America, Sports Illustrated scribe Peter King could not confirm the severity of Brady's injury, but did say it was an injury that would put the rest of the season "in jeopardy".
Word of Brady being gone for the year will send shockwaves throughout the league, and it will probably re-ignite conversation over the play itself. The league has already said it was a clean hit by Pollard, but there are many who share the opinion of Patriots' receiver Randy Moss, who doesn't agree with the NFL.
Already, we'd heard from Jets players who were saying Brady suffered a torn ACL, and any look at the tape of the play leads you to the conclusion that this was probably a bad injury.
The Patriots have not confirmed Silver's report. They are listing Brady as questionable for next week's game with the Jets because of a sore back.

Knee was loose when they did the Lachman test on the field.. ACL definitely not attached and possible MCL damage as well.
Is Favre still available?

I love people who spend there days on the computer and know nothing about sports. Yet they believe they can ramble on and talk about anything. Do you know why coaches for the last 40 years have put clipboards in front of there mouths when calling plays....do you moron. It's because people are watching and recording every move they can. It's called sports, thats why in baseball they have all the signals.....understand - couch potato -
22 games in a row 18 games in a row 3 championships. Ya it was cheating - lol. I hate couch potatos !

Mr Kraft,
If I am your GM I am on the phone right now calling Daunte Culpepper to get a look at him. Hopefully you can talk him out of his recent retirement. Remember Culpepper and Moss did a pretty good job together. I am from the bay area and sorry to see Brady injured. Good luck.

OMG! If I hear one more prognosticator say that the whole NFL is mourning the loss of Tom Brady I'm gonna freakin puke!! If anything every NFL team just did an Irish jig cause the Pats are officially DONE! Brady can bite me...my biggest wish is that the punk enjoys the sympathy so much that he keep the pacifier gig going forever and NEVER returns!

Only complete losers would be happy to see one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the game injured and out for the season.
Your are all sad, sad people and you should re-examine your life seriously because I am sure there are issues with you.

Haters eat your %$ out. One of the best is out of the game. WTF is your problem people. If Brady was on your LOOSER team you would be crying like little girls. Hey remember how Palmer went down...
This was a cheap shot and the looser should be fined and posibly suspended. I hope the NFL takes a good look at this with all the player safety talk that we have heard over the past few years.
last.... Spaygate???? Give me a break!!! Why didnt that looser Mangini report this when he was on the Pat's organization... Where was the NFL when J Taylor admited to watching a tape of the Pat's audibles on national TV...... That is the biggest *#@$%* I have ever seen on TV. Get Your Facts Right.
Too all you haters. I dont want to wish harm to anyone so $%#@ YOU!!!!

If what NE fans say is true, and the Pats go ahead and win as usual, it will just prove my theory about the Pats.
That Brady isn't really that special. That it's the Pats D and supporting characters (like having best WR since Jerry Rice) that really make the team and Brady is just a "good" qb.
If the Colts lost Manning they'd be lucky to win 3 games. That's the difference, Peyton really IS a MVP whereas Brady is merely a pretty good player on a great team lead by a great coach. Peyton, on the other hand, is a once-in-a-generation QB, and will be remembered as such. There is a reason Peyton is the most recognized NFL player in the world and Brady is not.
30 years from now, the average 30-y-o football fan will know the Pats of this decade were a great team. They will also know that Peyton was the greatest QB of all time.
Put Peyton on the Pats and he'd have won the SB 7 times. Hands down.

And BB is a cheater with no character. Nearly every non-Pats fan would agree with this. From what I hear day-in-and-day-out, anyone who isn't a Pats fan generally has no respect for BB or the Pats, regardless of the rings.
If you don't win by honest means, then you can't expect people to regard you with honor.
Oh, and NOBODY thinks this was a cheap shot. Even the huge Boston fans of ESPN and NBC said this was NOT a cheap shot. I don't know what show folk were watching but what I saw was a defender being pushed into Brady while trying to tackle him. Not the defenders fault. Moss is just running his mouth about nonsense, as usual.
Sorry to Brady, as he doesn't deserve this. Probably one of the only honest guys in a dirty organization. Now if this had happened to Rodney Harrison, he'd have deserved it.
