Brady didn't take a snap during the preseason because of a foot injury, and it took less than a quarter before he hobbled back to the locker room for the rest of the day, and maybe longer. Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard hit Brady just as he released the ball, but there was no flag for a low hit. Probably because Pats running back Sammy Morris was pushing him in the back.
Week 1 Injuries
Tom Brady's 128 consecutive start streak is in jeopardy after the reigning MVP went to the turf clutching his left knee midway through the first quarter. While Brady's injury dominated the injury wire, it wasn't the only major blow in Week 1 of the NFL.

That didn't make any difference to Randy Moss, who took issue with Pollard's tackle. But he doesn't want to get into it.
"I don't really want to get into it, but me personally, I think it was dirty," he said.To recap: Moss doesn't want to talk about it, he doesn't even know how to play dirty, but the hit looked dirty to him. Duly noted.
"Like I said, I didn't really see anything; I was running down the field. When I came back in [and watched it], it looked dirty to me. I've never been a dirty player. I honestly don't even know how to play dirty. I just play the game. Any time you see something like that, that looks foul, it looks dirty, it opens your eyes. So, me personally, it looked dirty."
Pollard defended the play as undirty.
FanHouse
"The play was not intentional," Pollard said. "People can call me a dirty player, you can call me whatever you want to call me, it's not a dirty play. When you have 230 pounds on your back, and you're trying to go forward, things will happen. I saw the ball was still in his hands and I tried to get to him. I tried to get up and get to him. But I couldn't get up, so I just tried to grab him. It was not an intentional play."I believe Pollard, and apparently so does everybody else, according to the NBC "Football Night in America" folks, but that won't change the fact that Brady could be sidelined for a while. I suspect there's much gnashing of teeth and finger-pointing among Patriots fans tonight, and understandably so (on the former, anyway), but I wonder if any of them were yelling and screaming when Vince Wilfork went all "Bernard Pollard" on J.P. Losman last season.

Oh, Randy Moss is an idiot - He can call a play that happens while he's running downfield and not looking at the play- what a stud - but of course a reporter just HAD to ask him what he thought

There is no doubt it was a clean hit.
If this had happened to Kyle Orton this
wouldn't even be an issue. If Randy Moss
doesn't want to make an issue about it
then shut the hell up

It is so obvious that Pollard launched himself into Brady knee and NO ONE was on his back during that motion. It was as deliberate as deliberate gets. Brady wore a protective ACL brace on that damn knee for two years as a prcaution, after Carson Palmer got hit like that. Why the hell did he take it off???

Must be a Pats fan... I don't know what play you were watching but Morris was all over Pollard's back practically from the start of the play. Guess you must have been watching Moss running down the field.

you must be retatrded(misspelled), it was clearly clean, Sammy Morris was pushing him to the ground. If I had a RB 260 lb pushing me to the ground and the QB is in Frond of me, would I be more worried about a) getting up from the weight or b) getting to the QB when the ball is still in his hand.

Let's face it, everyone....We're all arguing over something as stupid as who invented the toilet. Who the heck cares about that. A man's well-being and career are on the line here. I am definitely not a Pat's fan and I was very pleased to see my Giants beat them last year, but I am sorry to see that he's fallen from this accident.
Yes, accident. There are so many things happening on the field at the same time that it was bound to happen sooner or later. You have 22 men, all weighing more than 225 pounds, slamming into each other, all over an oval shaped piece of pigskin filled with air. Sooner or later, these 22 men are going to get hurt. Especially when they are doing this for 16 out of 17 weeks for a total of 60 minutes or more of game play. Brady got hurt...in the annals of sports history, its not a big deal.

I am a Pats fan. Have been all my life. I've watched their ups and their downs and have always and will always remain a Pats fan. Having said that, as painful as it was to watch, I don't think it was a dirty play. It was unfortunate yes, but we have HUGE guys playing a contact sport. Injuries are to be expected.
Now we'll have to watch as the team rebuilds and see what happens. I think it's too early to say we're completely out of the running but it's certainly not going to be an easy year without him.
As for this whole thing on who invented the toilet???!!! Come on!!! What difference does it make??!!! No need to insult each other over who did what. Thank god they did, okay!!(who ever it was ... Thomas, John, ... Tom Dick or Harry, or all of them on a collaborative effort!!! Let's face it .. we all use one (or .. yikes ... should be using one) and move on to the real point of things. It's going to be an interesting season no doubt but either way .. I'll cheer for my team and watch them work this all out ... just like any other team's fan would be right now.
Thanks and take care

His well-being and career, to hell with him. He will have the best doctors working on him and god forbid he doesn't ever play again he has more money than anybody you or I know. He was just at the bad end of a play that happens all the time all over the country at various levels of play.

Definitely a planned hit and of course it was intentional. He grabbed his foot after the ball had left his hand. Check out the replay. Jealousy prevails.

So, what I guess you're saying is the Patriots can only win with Brady, well that doesn't say much for the rest of the team!
