Fred Taylor got in trouble. That much we know now; at the time we were heavily confused as to whether he was actually arrested or whether he was handed a pink ticket with "Disorderly Conduct" written all over it.Turns out it was the latter. The nice thing is that Taylor is ready and willing to admit his mistake, by apologizing to the team and to the Weaver family as well.
Taylor addressed the team Monday, and said he cursed at two policemen who were searching his car with a dog outside of a nightclub. He received a disorderly conduct citation.Generally speaking, being polite to police officers at all times is a smart thing. So it's nice that Taylor learned that lesson (Sheesh. Only took him how long? I figured that out at 14. Quickly.) There were some later comments by Taylor that indicated he was provoked by the policemen, and frankly, that's not surprising.
Taylor said he's learned to use only four words in talking to the police in any similar situation in the future: "Yes, sir" and "no, sir."
"I'll take this and learn from it. I'm humbled by it. Hindsight is 20-20. How about a "yes, sir' or "no, sir' next time?" he said.
Coach Jack Del Rio said, "I asked him to speak with the guys to gain some experience from the situation. I think it's a great reminder of the need to be respectful with authority."
Have you ever watched CSI: Miami? Do you think David Caruso messes around when punks start popping off while he's looking for some ... muuuuurder? Exactly.
Anyway, lesson learned, and in all seriousness, if you read between the lines, it sounds like Taylor is taking one on the chin by not stirring the pot with the Miami Police Department. Obviously, he's gonna get the ticket dropped in exchange, but everyone gets to move on and play football.

This is a sad reminder that no one is above the law. I can not see Fred Taylor as being in the wrong, but the police must do their jobs. This could also be a sign that the NFL players are being viewed as thugs or hooligans due to the inflow negative media over the last couple of years. I mean the Pacman Jone's, Micheal Vick's, Chris Henry's and the Tank William's of the world may be making it hard on all the other athletes.....

I'm not a cop, and agree that there are some messed up people who are cops, but from all I've read, we as outsiders have no idea what actually transpired in this altercation. To be popping off about this being a race inspired incident perpetrated by some racist cop just shows your own racist tendency's. Learn to look at vague story's that you know nothing about in a little more objective manner, and it will suit you well in life.
