We knew Ricky Manning Jr. wouldn't be out of work for long when the Bears granted him his release last week. Ever since he picked three passes in the NFC Championship game his rookie year, his name has carried much more weight than his game (except maybe in a Denny's). That being said, the Rams did need to add some depth in the secondary, and Manning will provide it. He has agreed to a one year deal to play in St. Louis. What this means to the Rams defense is now they have another capable playmaker in the secondary alongside Tye Hill -- who they are hoping will blossom in his third season. While Manning doesn't offer much in the way of run support and he's not a great cover-corner, he does have 14 picks in 79 career regular season NFL games -- two of which he took back for scores.
The move was really a no-brainer for the Rams, and I'd have to upgrade the secondary's heat index grade one point to a five.

Thats My Guy! Im comming out there to support you... We are staying at Henry Ellards House! LOL
It seems to me that a lot of what is lacking in the Rams these dys is HEART. There are a lot of good players on this team on both sides of the ball. Unfortunately, it does not take more than a couple of guys with no HEART to bring the whole thing down. It is a team sport. Why not go pick up Adam Archuleta and John Lynch to give the secondary some guts. These guys are way past their prime, but in their day, no one gave more of themselves. Let's get off the turf and start acting like an NFL team again. Get Linehan and his whole damn coaching staff, starting with Haslett out and start rebuilding. Bring in some guys with a champion's HEART if not the physical ability they once had to teach the young guys how to play. Then get rid of some dead wood. Maybe we can still trade some talented, but HEARTLESS players for a couple of reasonable offensive linemen. It bothers me that we cut the kid named LeVoir, only to have him sign with the Patriots the next day. If someone is good enough to play on the Patriots line, he damn well is good enough to play for that pathetic bunch that is allowing Bulger and Jackson get killed every week. Get some guts. Get brave. Do something bold in the front office. Georgia's gone (Rest In Peace). Get over it. I didn't think I'd miss the old gal, but at least she got us one Superbowl. Chip you are worthless. Get out of the business. Get Cower, Schottenheimer, or Johnson in to run football operations and lets start rebuilding. Enough is enough.
