Contrary to what we previously learned, Fred Taylor has not actually been arrested. He has been misbehaving, it appears, but not physically placed in handcuffs nor taken downtown to be processed. From his attorney, Adam Swickle, via Michael Wright of J-ville.com:
It's nothing more than a ticket, just like if you were pulled over for speeding or pulled over with a problem with your license and they give you a date and a time and a document to appear," Swickle said. "He was never formally arrested, never booked, didn't post a bond and he has not been charged with anything. We're pretty confident obviously that he won't be charged with anything.I can tell you, there is no way he could've been arrested because he never would have been given a notice to appear.Well, I suppose that's good. But trouble is trouble. And I don't necessarily agree -- in principle, not in technical legal analysis -- that getting a disorderly ticket is on the same level of getting a speeding ticket, only because it probably would have resulted in an arrest if he wasn't really famous.

disorderly conduct...he could have been in an argument with someone that was drunk and gotten a ticket for that. Will Brinson, who are you to judge when you don't know the facts?!?

Look Fred has been a stand up guy and has carried himself pretty well throughout his career! I do understand that being back home in Miami does present a more sense of caution becuase the nightlife and social scene is far better than Jax but also has more opportunites for a little trouble!
He went to unwind and relax and probably was kickin it a little to hard but not hard enough for Miami Cops to take him to jail so he must have been good!..unlike if he would have been in Jax! JSO would have tased him, shot him and then said nothing happened!
Leave Fred alone...that ticket ain't nuthin..what about cocaine cowboy snortin Matt Jones...who actually is playing better now! that's worth blabbing over not Pro Bowl Fred!
Um surprised Matt & Jimmy Smith wasn't hangin out last night!

Hate to break it to ya, fella, but disorderly conduct IS in most states on the same level as a speeding ticket. It's just a summary offense. You get a citation and a court date out of it. That's it. You generally only get arrested if there is substantial harm or threat of substantial harm from the conduct, or if you persist in your conduct after the officers tell you stop.
There doesn't appear to be any of those elements in Taylor's behavior. Hell, you can get a DC citation from simply using obscene language, or being unreasonably noisy.
I think it's rather absurd that you can say disorderly conduct is more severe than a speeding ticket (especially when speeding causes a greater risk of harm), when you clearly don't even know what disorderly conduct legally entails. And if you don't know what it is legally, how can you judge it in principle?
