Michael Strahan Has Decided the FOX Booth Looks Just Comfortable Enough, Stays Retired

Will he? Won't he? The nation was collectively gripped in a Favre like fever for 48 straight hours, wondering if Michael Strahan would unretire after only a few short months and return to save the New York Giants from a for-sure-locked-in 6-10 season. (End sarcasm. Except the 6-10 part.)

Well, he won't, via the anti-Mort, Jay Glazer at FOX Sports.
"This has been one of the toughest nights of my life," Strahan said from Greece. "But after long deliberation and throwing around a million scenarios in my head for the past day, I think it's just best if I stay retired.

"I have gone back and forth on this because as a player you'll always want to play, you'll never lose that urge to be out there. But I could only do this if I could commit 100 percent, physically, mentally, emotionally and I can't do that. I've tried to convince myself and my body to give it one more year, but in the end I just don't think I could turn it on like I need to again."
First of all, nice "scoop", Jay. (Seriously, Glazer's great at what he does, but has there ever been a bigger layup in the history of reporting?)

Secondly, thank goodness. Because Lord knows we've already got enough unretired flip-floppers roaming New York. Besides, people just need to learn that it's just better to go out on top. Or with your leg broken under a pile of D'Bricks. Whatever.
