Wilfork knows that the eye-poke, as well as a late hit on Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, a low hit on Bills quarterback J.P. Losman and a facemask of Chargers running back Michael Turner have given him the dirty reputation. But he says he doesn't really care.
The Boston Herald reports:
"It's not going to stop the way I play and prepare," Wilfork said last week. "I'd never alter my game just because of something like that. That was in the past. I really don't care about it. I'm going to do what I got to do to get myself ready for the season."Wilfork did admit that it was "stupid" of him to go for the eye gouge on Jacobs, but for the most part he sounds like he doesn't have much remorse for his series of cheap shots. He's been fined $40,000 by the league, and since that hasn't changed his approach to the game, maybe next time a suspension is in order.

There is no excuse for dirty play........it is for guys who lack real athletic ability and cannot stop anyone by approved methods. Anyone can play dirty............good athletes don't need to though!! This guy should be run out of football, but won't because there are already too many thugs playing in the NFL and they won't weed out anyone like this. The only justice would be for some other 'dirty' player to come along and do everything to him that he's done to others. And I'd bet he wouldn't like it!!!
Dirty play is for LOSERS and this guy is just one of them!!!!!!

It's funny how this came up so recently, considering the recent comments of Bill Belichick...
From NFL.com:
"Belichick stopped short of calling the hit by Pollard dirty. He did emphasize his players are always taught it's their responsibility to hit the QB above the knees and below the shoulders."
Yeah, right.
Anyone else despise Belichick and the generally condescending and superior attitude of the Patriots as much as I do?
