Braylon Edwards Could Miss Two Preseason Games With Gimp Foot

And the Braylon Edwards saga continues...

Last weekend, I mentioned that Edwards suffered a gash on his foot after teammate Donte' Stallworth accidentally* gashed him with his cleat. The wound required stitches and a few days on the shelf to recover.

Well, Stallworth is very sad about the whole incident. (Just a thought, but maybe wearing shoes is kinda important in tackle football, Rich Karlis aside. Obviously.) Now it looks like Edwards may be out for more than just a few practices; in fact, it's at least two preseason games, according to the Canton Rep's Steve Doerschuk:
Braylon Edwards will miss Monday's game and probably next Saturday's game vs. the Lions with a lacerated foot. Crennel said 2006 Round 3 draft pick Travis Wilson has a slight edge over 2007 undrafted free agent Steve Sanders to start in place of Edwards. "It's close," Crennel said. "Both are very competitive young men."
This shouldn't be an issue for the regular season, and worst case, it'll give guys like Wilson and Sanders more reps, which, in the long run, is a good thing. They should just make sure they stay away from Stallworth, who's apparently hellbent on being this team's No. 1 wide receiver.
