Looks like all Muhsin Muhammad did was say what everyone else is thinking. Only everyone else says it, too. The Bears QBs suck. Wow, that's quite an original thought, Moose. No one else is/has been saying that for the past fifteen years or so. Thanks for the revelation. The statement would have a lot more credibility if it came from Bernard Berrian. You know, the guy that no one thought would be more than a speedy stretch-the-field slot receiver and instead became a very highly paid WR1 for the Minnesota Vikings in the off-season. Did he "go to die" in Chicago?
On the flip-side, you have Moose. He made more noise on the sidelines and in the locker room bitching than he did on the field producing. He lost his ability to gain separation and drops were routine. I suppose those two items fall squarely on the shoulders of Rex Grossman, Brian Griese, and Kyle Orton as well?
In response, the Bears weren't taking the bait ... though it seems like they wanted to:
Asked how Muhammad was as a teammate, Orton snapped, ''No comment.''
Receivers coach Darryl Drake?
''Everybody is entitled to their opinions. I love Moose and hope that he continues to have an illustrious career. We're going to do what we do here. That's our feeling.A hug around the neck? Isn't that a choke? Hopefully Drake goes Undertaker on Moose and choke-slams him. That would gain immediate entrance into the youtube hall-of-fame.''I'll give him a great big hug, right around the neck [when they meet in Week 2] because I love him.''
You can feel the love, can't you? There's more ... former Arena League player, Rashied Davis:
''I don't think receivers go to die here,'' Davis said. ''I've been making myself here.''And offensive coordinator Ron Turner:
''I could say a lot,'' he said, ''but I won't.''Grossman also simply avoided the topic.
On one hand, it's good to see the team all on the same page and going into "no comment" mode. On the other, what do they have to lose? Everyone already thinks they suck, why not just fire back about how much of a bust Moose was and say something about how he made Grossman look worse than he actually is? What's the harm in that?
After having to watch a guy alternate between whine and drop for three years, that's the least they could do for us fans.
UPDATE: Moose tries to claim he was "misquoted" by Peter King. I'll stand by my stance above.

Matt, the Bears are who Moose thinks they are, don't be mad at him for speaking on a subject with which he has in-depth, personal experience and expertise.
Also, as a former newspaper reporter, I can say that it's easy for things to be taken out of context. it can be difficult sometimes to capture the actual mood and environment from when a statement was delivered and then put that on paper with print. I side w/ Moose.
He is overrated though, any REAL Panthers fan could tell you that

Isn't it nice to blame all your problems on the Bears. Did you guy's know that Moose refused to come to camp the entire time he played for the Bears? And soulcitysigma what do you mean by" the Bears are how you think they are"? Even in your own comment your say Moose was on his way out. Let's talk fact's. Moose's performance wasn't very good for what the Bears were paying him. And it was only getting worse each year.

You had me at the Denny Green reference.
I'm not even taking issue with him saying the QBs suck. We all know they do. I'm taking issue with him not being accountable for his ultra-poor play in '07 and generally just being a whiny teammate.
By the way, all real Bears fans know he's overrated, too.

I say; "Thicker the fog....the louder the horn"--Moose-you certainly did die last year with the Bears---much of it your own fault too.

I'm a Panthers fan who always knew MOOSE is "who I thought he was"...a guy who would bad mouth anyone else on the planet to make himself look good. He did it in Carolina the first time, he did it on his way out to Chi for the money grab, and he's doing it now TO Chicago. Shocker. A bunch of Chi fans sure wanted to call it sour grapes when some of us brought it up at the time he went there though...lol I got my karma moment when Rex blamed Moose for that int in the SB. Moose let his FIRST YEAR AS A STARTER QB blame himself publicly for a horrible INT in an game vs Atl in 2003 that led to the game winning score for ATL and it was actually MOOSE'S fault. Never liked him, don't like him now, but the team is happy to have him back for some reason. My guess is that it is mainly because Steve Smith likes him. After all I truly believe that they dumped Keyshawn because Steve Smith hated him. They were both about the same as far as receivers. Actually that's not true...Key is more consistent than Moose. Also I liked Key's personality better. At least he admitted that he would have still been in Dallas had they offered him more $$. Moose acted like the Panthers were undervaluing his LEADERSHIP(they did make him an offer but it wasn't as much as Chi's) and he couldn't WAIT to go play with REX who he FELL IN LOVE WITH ON FILM and how HE, MOOSE can make QBs great...and how CHI had a better chance a the SB...ugh. Gimme a break. Had Moose simply been HONEST ans said yes I am leaving for the $$ I would have had some respect for him. I am having a hard time accepting him on the team again to be honest. He better do right by the guys this time.

I cosign with DD. I always tell Panthers fans that they forgot the real Moose. He had that breakout 2004 season (a contract year), but at any other given time in his career he was no better than slightly above average and what kills me is that Panthers fans don't realize that his 2003 performance (the Superbowl year) was actually DISMAL. He dropped almost every pass and was accountable for two of the panthers' five regular season losses that year. Now, chances are Carolina is going to keep the declining Moose and release the promising Jason Carter to keep 5 WR on the roster.
All that makes me sour, but I am happy about the fact that Chicago got robbed in this deal. Like DD said, there were Chi fans talking mad smack about it when Moose went north. Whelp, now you have nothing to say except that you're happy he's gone, which is actually the smartest thing you've ever said. Sgtfroman1, I'm going to decline to truly respond to you since you can't manage to quote me accurately.

I, too, am a true Panthers fan, and I love Moose. His play when his number is not called on a particular play is where he adds value that, otherwise, might be "mediocre" on the receiving end of a pass. To be fair, in his pre-Chicago time with Carolina, his perfomance was always bolstered by a contract year. But, his absence was keenly felt. He is a solid #2 receiver. Take it from a fan of the team who's been tortured over the last few seasons...a solid #2 man is invaluable. Just ask Jake Delhomme. The fanbase in Carolina is energized by his return. Another fair point was made relative to his performance without Smith in game 2 against the Bears. I look for him to have a monster game against them come early September.

YEA chicago is where recivers got to die, i was so unhappy when we lost MOOSE btu he asked 4 wayyyyyyy to much money so he didnt resign with us know that we got him back hes still as good as he used to be. And to soulcitysigma1914 IM A REAL PANTHERS FAN AND ILL TELL U THI. b 4 moose came to chicago he had 16 tds with carolina, and was the primary reciver so he was double teamed often and he go's to chicago and gets like 3? COME ON ALL RECIVERS SUCK IN CHICAGO, SOO BAD THEY HAVE TO USE DEVIN HESTER AT RECIVER.any 1 see moose last week he had 6 catches 4 56 yards so i dont think hes that over rated. NOW hes in carolina wtih a real qb and a real team that knows who there qb is.
