For an Olympian, your time to shines happens once ever four years ... or the last time the Ravens looked like a team headed somewhere. That doesn't matter to current Man of the Month Michael Phelps. After competing in that bananas "oh my lord can you believe that just happened I hope the DVR was set" 4-by-100 relay, his sister tossed him a custom Ravens jersey signed by the entire team.
Afterwards, Phelps, a native of Baltimore, showed what happens to a man who now has more gold than Fort Knox.
"I was so pumped," he said. "My sister threw it down to me. I just remember after I got my medal I walked back to the ready room where we were sitting, and everyone said, 'Let me see, let me see.' and I held up the jersey. They're like, 'No, no, the medal.' I was like, 'Well, I'm excited about the jersey.'"If you haven't fallen in love with this kid's heart and dedication to his sport yet, you haven't been watching enough Olympics. He's competitive, supportive and if nothing else, loyal to his teams.
What are the chances the Ravens could get him to take a few snaps this season? It sure couldn't hurt.

I wasn't aware that you wrote about other stuff than golf... Solid post, keep up the good work.
I think he should return the favor and send the Ravens a signed speedo... I would pay to see their reaction.

Dude, I am still excited about the Ravens! While everyone is busy talking about Tony Romo's escapades with Jessica Simpson, or Brett Favre running a penalty lap (tee hee, it is the most hilarious thing ever), the Ravens are busy getting ready to re-assert dominance in the AFC North. I'm feeling it, man, it's Baltimore's year! Just look at Phelps. Sure, he's a genetic freak, but it's BALTIMORE, baby! Home of The Wire. This season, the Ravens are gonna score like a drunken McNulty in a coffee shop after wrecking his car twice - you might not see it coming, but that's because you don't know Charm City. BELIEVE baby!!!

Shane should at least be responsible enough to research a topic
before he writes another BS AOL article. Make sure to tell Ravens
fans across the country that can't even land a spot on the 30 plus
year waiting list for season tickets / PSLs that no one cares. Next
time, don't forget the 14 pro bowlers and the number one defensive
player in the league plays for the Baltimore Ravens. They were 13-3 and had a first round bye less than two years ago. Wow! You know quite a bit about the NFL. Shane must been raised in Pittsburgh or Detroit. Your credibility is about as solid as their real estate.

This young man Michael Phelps is wonderful. He edifies a hard work ethic, determination and focus and it is so great to see him swim. Thank you Michael for giving us hope to test our abilities -to cope with adversity.
I think the Ravens should all get speedos with Michael Phelps on them, hey, it could be lucky!
Good season for the Ravens, I hope, don't forget, Michael will be watching you play.
