Stephanie Stradley already chronicled the story of kids telling Aaron Rodgers that he sucks. That's bad enough, but I'm sure any pro athlete out there can handle a kid saying "You suck".Unfortunately, the kids aren't stopping there, and one has to assume they aren't getting their mouths washed out with soap, either.
Rodgers said he's been handling the boos with no problem, but some of the personal attacks have bothered him. Probably every practice there's one or two pro-Brett Favre people who are yelling things loud enough for the players to hear them. Are we for real here? Kids swearing at a totally innocent bystander in the Brett Favre drama?
But Rodgers said he hears things off the field, too.
"I understand it to some point if I put myself into a Favre fanatic's shoes," Rodgers said of getting booed. "The things I can't understand, the things I really take personally, is when I'm driving up to the (parking lot) gate and punching in my punch code and somebody says 'F.U.' to me. That kind of bothers me. Or when a little kid is yelling swear words at me. That kind of gets to me. The boos, they expect a high level of play and they miss Brett Favre. I understand that. But the 'F.U.' and the little kids saying swear words to me, I don't understand that."
Listen. I'm all for freedom of speech. Say whatever the hell you want. Say it loud and proud if you want. All I ask is that you not lead a protest march down my street at midnight protesting a nickel increase in your water bill. Otherwise, it's cool.
But could we stop encouraging our kids to swear at Aaron Rodgers. I mean, it's bad enough that you "adults" see fit to heckle the kid when he didn't do anything wrong.
However, letting your kids loudly swear at him not only keeps you from being considered anything close to a competent, responsible adult, but it also makes the rest of us look bad. Packer fans do enough stupid stuff. We don't need help to look like obsessive imbeciles.
In the end, the true Packer fans will ditch this Favre crap and start supporting Rodgers. I hate to sound like Aaron in his "get on board or shut up" rant, but it's true. If you're a Packer fan, you're going to support Rodgers and stop blasting him for something (the Favre soap opera) that he can't control and wasn't even remotely responsible for. If you're a Favre fan, stop lurking around Lambeau Field, go buy a new Favre jersey, and leave Aaron Rodgers alone.
If you want to make a fanbase look stupid, do it to the Jets.
If you don't know whether you're a Favre fan or a Packers fan, there's a pretty simple barometer. If you read Rodgers' comments and think to yourself that he's whining about all this, you're probably a Favre fan. If you plan on supporting Rodgers no matter what and think this is all a bunch of poppycock, then there's a good chance you're a Packer fan.
And you can be a Packer fan while still wishing Favre all the best with the Jets.

my god what a little bitch.he can't handle little kids swearing at him. that bothers him because the fans know the pack is a better team with farve at qb.whats this guy gonna do with less then 2 mins to go , 4th qtr , on the road an a playoff berth on the line.my money says he crumbles like a stale cookie an the team will be lucky to be 8-8. an if so ted an mike should pay with their jobs.I HOPE I'M WRONG.
my advice to # 12 is shut up an play football 4,000 yards an 20+ tds is hard to do. a start would be to complete a game and not end up on the IR list

Are you kidding me!!! Rodgers had nothing to do with the situation we are in now. If you are a true packers fan and has paid attention to the info coming out of packer management, the real bad guys are coach McCarthy and general manager Thompson. To hire a "high priced" politcal and sports PR firm proves there is something to hide. If you want a real villan to lash out at these two, these two individuals should be the receiptants of your frustrations and anger. Go to the source. Those two do not deserve their positions with the Packers. We are above all these lies and "half truths". They are the ones that put the Packers in a position to rely on a young quarterback with little NFL experience and backups with NO NFL experience. Go PACK!!!!

Really classy. Defending parents who allow their children to swear and berate someone who's done nothing wrong (or anyone for that matter). I pray to God you're not reproducing. Our prison systems are full enough without adding your kids to the mix.

I couldn't agree more!
I can't believe that ANYONE would be ok with some little kids swearing at ANYONE! It doesn't matter if its Aaron or anyone else! Grow up people! Brett retired...the Packers moved on...and when he wanted to come back he didn't get his way. I love Brett, don't get me wrong, but hes gone. If you are truly a "Packer" fan you'll support him. I'm a Bronco fan and trust me I wasn't thrilled with Brian Griese or Jay Cutler but I want my team to do well not one individual player.

Ya know, part of me is glad to see Farve outa GB!!! I mean either F'n Retire or play,, pick one,,,,, not retire and then a few months later un-retire..... He did this for the past couple of years, hence the REASON!!!! why greenbay drafted Rodgers.
Now, say the Packers took back Farve, well, I'd love to see Rodger's leave GreenBay after the year is done and goto a team who will let him play. Now what if Farve was to retire after this year and was still playing with Greenbay?? Now they lose both QB's. I mean, if i was Rodger's, i'd love to see Farve come back to play another year lol, cuz then It's another year I do nothing yet earn a few million :)
Personally, I'd love to see Rodger's take GB to the playoffs so he can tell all you nay sayers to GET BENT!!!!!!!!

Also,,,,, how are all of you GreenBay fans going to feel if Rodger's leaves at the end of this year??? Now, not only have you lost two of your QB's, but your bringing in a new QB!!! Or maybe you will have to draft another one. I kinda look at this situation like the one in Miami,,,,,
Marino was around for so long, they didnt need to draft another QB. That was untill he RETIRED!!!!! now they've still been looking for his replacement and have yet to find one.
Yes it's nice to have a QB who is able to stick around for long time, but it also sucks cuz, if you dont draft a replacement, or you do, he either sits and does nothing or eventually leaves to goto a team who will let him play. Not too many guys are OK with playing second fiddle.
I mean if i was a QB, i'd hate to be drafted to a team with a set QB, like Payton, Brady, Marino, Montana. Why?? cuz you know your playing time is going to be slim to none and you wont get a chance to prove yourself unless they get hurt.

That's part of the game my brother. The fans make the game. Even if they are your team's fans, they are going to test you. All you have to do is play like you said on ESPN. If you play well, they will love you. So get over it. Stop giving us the sad story, and play you a$$ off.

If I was a kid and said firetruck you to an adult I would get my mouth washed out with hot soapy water. Kids have great role models in parents who don't teach their kids words can hurt the person they insult. Don't worry Aaron see Rocky IV and if Rocky can get Muscovites to cheer him during his fight with Ivan Drago because he fought very well so can you Aaron Rodgers get win football games and Brett Favre can enjoy his post Packer life in New Jersey.

I typically don't comment on blogs, but I have to right now. This is directed at every one of you so called Packer fans that is happy with the fact that the Packers sh*t on the greatest Packer ever and slammed the door in his face long before any of this stuff in the media.
I am going to drop some knowledge right now, so just shut up and listen:
As we all know, Ari Fleischer is now on the Packers payroll. Do we all remember Ari Fleischer? Yes, that’s right, he’s one of the main players in the selling of the war in Iraq to the gullible American public based on information that they knew was false. Not going to dive into that. But, think about one of the main tactics they used when selling the war: discrediting and disparaging anyone, and I mean anyone, who spoke out against them. So, don’t you find it at least interesting that every story that has “leaked” from the Packers side has made Favre look bad? Oh, that’s just coincidence you say. Well let me go here. In this whole stupid saga, which side really had more to lose based on how this was viewed in the public eye? Favre? I think not. He simply wanted to play football. He admitted to retiring early, and, as always, he took the blame for this. Even though we know now that he was pressured into that decision. His legacy as the greatest Green Bay Packer to ever play the game, and one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game, is intact forever, no matter how he plays in NY. He has been open and honest, just he was for 16 years. Remember that? For 16 years you all loved Favre because he was an open, honest, down-to-earth guy who wore his heart on his sleeve. Oh, but all of the sudden he’s a cry baby whiner? Really? So for 16 years he was fooling the world. Wow, maybe he should go into acting while he’s in NY. Okay, now what about the Packer organization? Um, yeah! Think about it. These people knew that they wanted Brett gone, and they knew how to make it happen. They would give him no indication that they wanted him back, while at the same time pressuring him for an answer to the point that he just couldn’t take it anymore and finally gave in and retired. Wy do you think the organization set up all of these closure ceremonies (retiring his jersey, staking down his locker) so quickly after he retired? So they could have more reason to keep him out. They knew he would likely change his mind and that is why they wanted to get all of this sh*t done immediately! Following that are phony stories that have come out since then about Favre changing his mind multiple times about coming back from the end of March through May, making it seem as though Favre was toying with the Packers and they couldn’t take it anymore. In reality, Favre NEVER told the organization he wanted to come back until June 20th. All of the leaked stories made it seem as though Favre contacted the Packers telling them he was sure he wanted to come back, then just days later, changing his mind again. You may ask, “Why would the Packers lie?” This management team will forever be remembered as the group that pushed Favre, one of the greatesr players to ever live coming off one of his best seasons ever, out of Green Bay. In order to do this and not suffer the backlash that they SHOULD BE suffering (if only Packer fans weren’t so gullible and stupid), they had to plant false stories (late march flip-flop, Packers issued cell phone, etc.) that made Favre look bad and made it seem as though they had no choice but to not accept him back. How can nobody see this? Why do you think that in the latest press conference with Thompson, McCarthy & Murphy, they still refuse to answer the question “Why, back in June, was it the stance of the organization to adamantly refuse Favre from rejoining the team?” There are four times in the press conference where this comes up with various wording, and every time the question is dodged, or McCarthy tries to tie his answer into the meetings that just occurred this past week. Why, when Favre first came to McCarthy and told him he wanted to play on June 20th, was the stance and adamant no, without any face-to-face contact with Favre about it? He hasn’t earned at least that throughout the past 16 years?! All that had occurred to that point were mini-camps and workouts. You’re telling me they were already set in a new direction at that point? Give me a break! They are running the same play book, but more plays to compliment Rodgers. But it’s the same play book! Also, if you watch all the locker room interviews, the players unanimously declare that bringing Favre back WOULD NOT cause division inside the locker room and the team would rally behind whoever is quarterback. The organization has been lying to the public since day one! Open your eyes people! Do you really, deep down in your hearts, think that the reason they won’t take him back is because he retired? If you do, then I’m surprises you are even smart enough to read this. The organization’s goal, since Thompson arrived, was to use Favre for a few years to mentor Rodgers, then once they felt Rodgers was ready, do whatever necessary to get rid of Favre. His play last season threw everyone for a loop, and they realized that after a season like that, they would need to hire the likes of Ari Fleischer to spin their BS to make it seem as though Favre is at fault here.
I still hold out hope that the once proud fans of the Green Bay Packers, the greatest, most storied franchise in history, will one day stand up and refuse to turn their back on the man who gave them everything he had to them for 16 years, and will not sell him out for the sake of an inexperienced management team that had a plan for his exit from the day they took power. Brett Favre played through the death of his father, the death of his father-in-law and brother-in-law, the revelation of his wife’s breast cancer, with broken bones (including the thumb on his throwing hand) and pulled muscles. He showed up EVERY DAY!! Won championships when he was able to carry the team, and tried his hardest to do so even when surrounded by a poor supporting cast, often to the detriment of his own legacy (all-time INT leader), but with one goal in mind: victory for not only the team he loved, but the town he still loves and the fans who he will always love. Don’t you think he has earned more respect than what he got when these egotistical bast*rds slammed the door on him and sh*t on him beginning January 21, 2008?! What happened to you “Packer fans”? You don’t deserve Brett Favre, and you never did . . .

Thank You, Thank You, Finally the voice of reason. I hated the retire not retire also. But in 2007 he gave his answer 2 days before the SuperBowl on NFL Network. I never see that anywhere. I couldn't believe all the hate filled comments on Favre after this soap opera. To me after Starr and Lombardi this guy did more for the Packer org. than anybody. Hell The Jets have sold something like 60,000 shirts, jerseys ect. Since he was aquired. He loves Green Bay, He loves the Packers, He loves the Fans. We should ALL love him.

I would have been fine with the coaches putting Rodgers on the bench and saying tough, that's the biz but that is as far as I would go. I can't believe that no one said anything to these kids. Parents are probably trash. I'll put my foot up my kids' asses if they are ever that disrespectful, not just to him but for everyone else that was there.
