Hat tip to Awful Announcing for finding an interesting interview with one Hall of Fame quarterback talking about a future Hall of Fame QB.
Troy Aikman was on the "2 Live Stews" radio show and chatted a bit about Brett Favre ... not too favorably, I might add:
"This has been going on for over a decade. Going into '96, the Super Bowl that he won. He talked about it prior to that game that if he won that Super Bowl he may in fact retire. And since that time it's been twelve years now that we've talking about whether or not Brett's going to retire.
He [Aaron Rodgers] has been there all of season, they drafted him in the first round, they told him that he was going to be a starter this year. And I think you risk losing him for the rest of his career, however short that maybe with Packers, to get one more season out of Brett Favre. Do you go on to win the Super Bowl? Well maybe you do, but they could very easily go 4 and 12 as well."
Aikman has played against Favre (9-1 lifetime record against the Packers) and has called a lot of Green Bay games. While not a Favre expert, he still is coming from a place we can all respect. I'm not an Aikman fan, but I like that he hasn't been shy about calling out whiners.
That crap about the Packers going 4-12 with Favre this year was insane since this team nearly went to the Super Bowl last year and pretty much the same group is back. Well, except for Favre.
You can listen to the clips of Aikman here.

HACKSAW, You're joking, right? Troy who? Only the winningest quarterback in the entire decade of the '90s. Hall of famer. Three-time superbowl winner. Superbowl MVP.
Yeah, that guy.

Troy who? You know Hacksaw, the Troy that wears three superbowl rings on his hand.
And I agree with Troy, EVERY YEAR for the past 5 or 6 years, Frave talks about retiring. Enough already!

Troy hit the nails on the head that he is tired of Brett Favre's retirement calls and then returning to play the game. The Packers were right to get rid of Brett since Aaron Rodgers waited a long time on the bench and now the team is his to lead. A 4-12 Packers season? Troy what were you drinking?

Brett will always be one of the "great players", but you could always tell what type of game he was going to have by looking at his face prior to the start of the game. Pensive, day-dreaming look told you, it's going to be a "long day" vs. all smiles and an enthusiastic look. Lately, it's been pensive and I hope the best for the Jets but it's Mr. Rodgers time to prove it will be a good day in the neighborhood. Best of luck Brett, Ted and Mike, we will all keep a close eye on you.

Troy = Shmuck!
The guy wasn't even that good!!!!!!!!!! He was lucky to have SO MUCH talent around him to get him those rings!!! Heck, If you were to take David car and put him on that team back then Car would probably produce the same numbers... lol - Maybe!
Troy is a DOUCHE! He isn't even in the same league as Favre!!!
Troys PATHETIC numbers:
TD-INT 165-141
Yards 32,942
QB Rating 81.6
Favres:
TD-INT 442-288
Passing yards 61,655
QB Rating 85.7
Yeah A$$HOLE troy might have 2 more rings but he had the same awesome team around him to do so. Brett had No name players throughout his career and still produced better than Troy. Yeah, Brett had Sharpe and so forth, but that doesn't even compare to what troll had..
Troll Aikman should just shut up and leave and never speak publically agian. What a DOUCHE!

A mr Joe Montana would like to speak to you about how overrated numbers are and those picks are pretty bad to. Favre was essentially Vinny Testaverde if he was good. How come when Favre throws 4 picks he's a "gunslinger" but if anyone else does it he sucks? Can anyone logically explain this to me?

Favre = Bucketass
Favre could mess up a steel ball with a rubber hammer. You talk about how Carr could have produced the same numbers back then with all that talent, huh? Good thing Favre wasn't there, he would of just ruined a good thing with his so called talent.
You can put up all the stats you want,(I noticed you didn't put down all his INT's vs. Troys) but you're still forgetting the one question, "What does Favre have that Aikman doesn't have?"
A SUPERBOWL LOSS!!!!!!!
Favre is a candy ass cry baby and needs to put reality before his ego. Quit whining and crying. Don't be hating on Troy because he was able to put together a good career in half the time that it has taken the ass from Green Bay. Little Favre should have the most stats especially if you play that long. (and still can't win the big one)
Don't go away mad Brett, just go away. It won't be that hard to forget you, well except for all your crying and complaining, that will take some time. What an ass!!!!

Troy Aikman was a better than average Quarterback who at best couldn't even hold Brett Farve's jockstrap. Sounds like the green eyed monster got the best of Aikman. In the long run people will barely remember him as the guy who handed the ball off to Emmitt Smith. In my opinion, Aikman is overated and does not belong in the hall of fame.

Was just talking last night about what a joke ol' Coattails Acheman was, and here he is, delivering yet another nugget of idiocy.
Firstly, its the media that has gone bezerko with this Favre retire-o-mania jazz, not Favre himself.
Secondly, how many players when they get up in the years contemplate the "going out on top" scenario, Strahan himself did it just this year, as did other greats, such as John Elway.
Thirdly, this is a ton of mularkey to begin with, Thompson and McCarthy DID in fact smear Favres name, and give him the runaround in the media front, as well as behind closed doors. Favres taking the high road through the matter, compared to goofballs like Charles Woodson babbling about Favres time is over because hey, Woodsons been there forever, er i mean only a couple of years after being cast off as a team cancer by the Raiders, makes Brett look uber classy.
There indeed has been a host of talk, there indeed has been a bludgeoning of coverage, but the truth of the matter is outside of a Fox interview, and some phone convo Mortensen aired, its been the Packers organization.
This is the same team that pretty much crapped all over Reggie White when White discussed coming back, then milked off his name after he died with some jersey retirement jazz, so screw Green Bay, and screw the idiots buying into the Favre retirement abuse being spawned by everyone BUT Favre.
And as for brain strain Acheman? Him chucking cheap slants isnt anything new. Its pretty been his entire career.

"acheman" has 3 rings and never held his team hostage with retirement threats. He was waived when he probably couldve played another year or 2. He left the game with dignity. Favre is a dumb hillbilly who obviously can't stand to be home with his wife/kids.

Acheman left the game because the Cowboys deemed his eggshell skull too fragile to endure the possibility of him dying on the field from yet another concussion, one possibly causing permanent brain damage (which, imho, is a little late in the game, no pun).
So a guy who three a miniscule 165 career td passes is the prototype qb?
What a joke.
Also, id rather be a noboby who achieves what he does on his own, than some goofbat who clung to the coattails of anothers talent, and rode it to personal glory, which im sorry, but he basks in now.
