Even though we've been hearing rumors about Jeremy Shockey relocating south, I really didn't expect it to actually happen because, well, players are forever bellyaching about their current situations, and often, the organizations pay them some lip service through the media, but inevitably, nothing changes. Everything changed in Shockey's case. The Giants got a second- and fifth-round pick, and the Saints got one of the league's best pass-catching tight ends. They also got a player coming off a broken leg who's sporting a ginormous chip on his shoulder. So, um, WATCH OUT GIANTS FRONT OFFICE! JEREMY'S GUNNING FOR YOU!
Well, sorta. According to Newsday's Tom Rock, even before Shockey was traded -- but after he made it clear that's exactly what he wanted -- he guaranteed retribution. Or some such.
"If the team trades me, I promise you I'm going to make them pay," Shockey told the youngsters during a promotional appearance in Queens in early June. "If I ever get a chance to play against a team that trades me, it's not going to be a pretty sight."Jeremy Shockey, motivational speaker to youths everywhere. Giants guard Rich Seubert hardly seemed affected by the threat of reprisal: "It's the business of football, it's what happens ... You have to move on. We'll be fine without him and best of luck to him wherever he goes." Whatever, Rich. You might be ready to move on, but Shockey's going to make the whole team PAY! You've been warned. Jerks.

Nice. I wonder if he then whipped out some Pabst Blue Ribbon(tall can of course!) and beef jerky to the youths.

Jeremy needs to start acting like an adult and concentrate on getting healthy, staying healthy and helping his team win. He still has that dumb ass Miami University mentality that all of the brain surgeons out of The U have.
I have been a Giant fan my whole life and Jeremy did a great job for the Giants while he was with them, but athletes in general need to understand that, as Rich Seubert said, they are in a business. Don't take it personally. You don't hear Jason Taylor whining about being traded from Miami. Jason is a class guy. Jeremy was traded for 2 reasons. He said he wanted to be traded and the Giants got tired of him negatively affecting the team.

The Giants were put in a no-win situation. You trade him, he dominates. You keep him, he whines and plays half-assed. The Giants made the right call by getting rid of him.
Btw, is Shockey, like, related to Ben Franklin?

What were the giants supposed to do. Here, they'll get a good player in the second round and the giants have a knack of getting great contributors in later rounds.

I hope Jeremy Shockey does sock to the Giants when the Saints play them in the future.

Shockey is a F'n idiot with the mentality of a child. He wanted to be traded. Now he has a Vendetta....lol He was never a bright person, so maybe it only took a few shots to the head to put him at the mentally retarded state.
Shockey, a motivational speaker? God, more like corrupting the youth and dumbing them down.
Bob, Taylor wanted to be traded as well. The only difference between the two is that Taylor wants to be on a winning team and Shockey, well, I'm guessing his neanderthal feelings got hurt when he was watching Boss replacing him without missing a beat.
Shockey's carreer is now offically over. He will never win another ring and he will blame all his problems on everyone else.
