Now that the Vikings have been slapped with a tampering charge, there are a lot of questions floating out there. The big one is did offensive coordinator Darren Bevell and the Vikings have any kind of inappropriate conduct with Brett Favre. And if they did, can the Packers prove it, which is much tougher. But even if the Packers can, there's a pretty good chance that the Vikings will get away with a slap on the wrist.When the 49ers were found guilty of tampering last year, it was the first time in 13 years that a team had been found guilty of tampering. Short of the team being dumb enough to email about the contacts (like in the 49ers' case) or someone involved who is willing confess (which seems unlikely in this case), it's nearly impossible to prove tampering.
Heck, it's even hard to figure out where the line is drawn between tampering and a friendly conversation. It's already been established that Bevell and Favre talk on a frequent basis. In a regular conversation, if Favre mentioned to Bevell that he was thinking of coming back, would Bevell have to tell him to stay retired? Or what if Bevell told Favre that the Vikings were just a quarterback away from a Super Bowl run? Would that be tampering if Favre responded that he'd like to come back to play for Bevell?
So the Packers don't have an easy road ahead to prove it. But say that they do. In the 49ers' case, San Francisco was penalized a fifth-round pick. That's a definite price to pay, but wouldn't that be worth it to ruin the Packers' season? At this point, Green Bay is heading into training camp in complete disarray, and if a couple of suggestions from the Vikings helped get that started that's not a bad idea. And of course, that's not even counting the chance of Favre ending up in Minnesota, which would have been worth a lot of risks.
So even if Bevell let it slip that the Vikings would be happy to have an ex-NFL MVP as their quarterback, it might have been worth the risk, even if there's an outside chance the Vikings will lose a late-round pick.

I cant see the point of bringing Bret Favre into Minnesota in the first place, the second would be are we willing to accept his heroics? Im tired of hearing about Bret Favre this and Bret Favre that, its annoying, hes annoying the Packers Organization is annoying. The real cheats are the Packers Org.
Heres a question for everybody who thinks Bret Favre brings anything here to the table;
Who do you think will get credit if Bret joins up with the Vikings and they go post season far enough to the Superbowl, and actually win it?

It wont be Mike Lynn Dr.Von Braun. WHo cares who gets the credit.We dont have the Sherrif to screw this one up. Lets just do what it takes to win. As much as I hate the Pack Vince had it right. Winning isn't everything it's the only thing. Being there with season tickets since 1960 I have earned a fans right to win at all costs period.

who care??? a 'W' is a 'W' no matter how it's done. Anyone with half a brain knows that a quarterback without his front line is toast! The 'TEAM' would be given the credit. Favre happens to be the 'missing link!' The Vikes had better hope they can get Favre...........if they do, their going to the superbowl!

I think Favre should come to the Vikings and I think if he did they would be a major Super Bowl contender. And I dont think Favre would get all the credit if they won the Super Bowl because winning is a team effort. So who cares about if the Tampering crap and yes it would be worth the charges if he did come to Minnesota.

i am a big supporter of favre but i thnk the dicision to come back is stupid. if u look at his past paterns he can win game for u and he can lose them..he needs the right coach to keep him under control. i saw a big change as soon as mike mccarthy took over. i think it wood be a terrible decision to play for anyone else but the packers. a move to the vikings wood be bad. he wood not go out on top thats for sure. and w/ the packers running a cut back system he wood hav to get used to a hole new way of playing. it wood be a bad decision.
