Quick! Bengals Need Their Friends Around to Help Them to Forget Chris Henry

Fellow FanHouse-r Ryan Wilson earlier discussed the notion of the Bengals looking at bringing back Chris Henry. Henry has had his assault charges dropped and could, maybe, see his NFL suspension lifted.

There have been reports locally that have the Bengals warming up to the idea of bringin him back.

NO!!!!!!!

As Ryan said in his post, I do get what the team is thinking ... talent-wise. No one has questioned his on-the-field ability (which wasn't the reason he keeps getting suspended or cut). It is off-the-field ability to keep finding himself in these messes. Just because he scraped by this time doesn't mean he's learned his lesson and get on that straight and narrow path.

Remember, this is a franchise that felt they needed to move on from these naughty players when the cut Chris Henry and Odell Thurman. Of course, that philosphy went down the tubes when they drafted a guy who drunk drove his car into an apartment complex just a week later.

Bringing Henry back doesn't make sense in any way and is downright dangerous. I know that the Dallas Cowboys can pull these things off ... but I don't think anyone is mistaking the Bengals for the 'Boys. You are being that chick that can't quit the man that keeps doing her wrong. Just let him go.

I'm sure there will be another fish in the sea. Another receiver that can create some controversy. Maybe there is one in your inner circle already?

In this whole Chris Henry mess, the one thing that caught my eye was his inability to take care of himself in any way. He's had his house taken away, his car nearly repo'd and he's broke. Dude even wore his own jersey while committing a crime!!! He can't stay out of trouble.

How much longer before we go through this nonesense again?

Mike Brown (Bengals owner); Do yourself a favor and forget that Henry even exisited. Cut him out of those old photos of you guys at Kings Island, or strolling along a park or sharing a milkshake. Burn those old mix tapes you guys made each other. Erase his number from your cell phone. Take his name off your MySpace friends list. Sure, if you pass him at the mall, just give him a nod ... but keep walking.

I mean, you were strong enough to break up with him in April ... just keep being strong. We're there for you.
