The fine fellows at Hashmarks conducted a wide-ranging interview with NFL head coaches, covering everything from the league's dirtiest player to its best quarterback to brainiest defender. The survey also asked coaches which "Pro Bowl-caliber player would they not want on their roster?"
Of the 20 head coaches who responded, 14 voted for Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens, who was the runaway winner. Chad Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals was a distant second with three votes. In case you're wondering, Randy Moss, Drayton Florence and Adam Jones each got one vote. (I had no idea Florence was such a malcontent; my money was on that loud-mouthed troublemaker Philip Rivers*).
So, why is T.O. the runaway winner in what seems like should be a pretty tight race? Since coming to Dallas, Owens has been the model teammate (if we're willing to overlook that whole weird suicide thing, anyway), even going so far as to blubber for his teammate.
During the last year or so, Johnson has been a monumental pain in the ass for the Bengals and their fans, but if we're comparing the two, T.O. is historically much more disruptive. I think the Ravens and the Eagles would agree, and the fact that Andy Reid had to sit him out of training camp before eventually trying to "Keyshawn" him pretty much says it all.
During the spring, Johnson was vocal about wanting to play anywhere but Cincinnati, but once it became clear that he could lose a lot of money to make a point, he piped down, was contrite, and showed up to work like nothing happened.
The thing is, I'm guessing Marvin Lewis would love to trade T.O. for Ocho Cinco straight up, but there's a great chance we'd see the old Owens as soon as the Bengals started the year 0-2.

That voting is a scam. How could you not want a player like T.O on your side? Sure he has been loud and did not get along with a couple teams but if you remember when T.O was playing for the eagles they Almost went all the way. Then when he left the team plunged and all the focus went from the loud mouth T.O to all of a sudden the once beloved qurterback turned into the "Cry baby" McNabb" (so whats really the problem the player or the city?) and When he hit Dallas they went from a 500 team to a predicted superbowl contender. Now going into his 3rd year with Dallas he is on a perfect team that fits his personality perfect. Dallas allows him to be who he is and be the flashy player that he is. I am confident that Dallas will be the place T.O settles and eventually retires with. I can see how some teams would not want T.O however because his attitude does not fit with every coaching style (parcell) but if you are able to give him some freedoms he will produce some points.

Maybe the reason coaches hate Terrell Owens is because of his spiking the football on the Dallas Cowboys Star logo some years ago when Terrell was with the Forty Niners.
