Just days after he made his retirement as an NFL player official, longtime quarterback Trent Dilfer has found a new job, as an ESPN studio analyst.

Dilfer, who has previously done part-time work with NFL Network, will appear on NFL Live, NFL Prime Time, Monday Night Countdown and on SportsCenter Sundays and Mondays during the NFL season. He will also work on ESPN's NFL draft coverage. From ESPN's release:
"Trent is a Super Bowl champion quarterback with strong, candid opinions and a tremendous insight on the game and today's players, having been in the huddle just last season," said Norby Williamson, ESPN executive vice president, production. "We look forward to having him join our team where he will appear on multiple programs and across our multimedia platforms."
Dilfer was always known as a personable and articulate player during his career, and he should make an easy transition into broadcasting. His spanned 14 seasons in five cities – Tampa Bay (1994-99), Baltimore (2000), Seattle (2001-04), Cleveland (2005) and San Francisco (2006-07).
