Bosworth, better known as "the Boz" during his short NFL career, intially was asked to carry equipment down to the paramedics, but it was clear they needed more manpower.

"She was screaming every time we moved her," Bosworth said. "It took five or six guys to get her into the ambulance." Bosworth was in the area because he and his son had gone on a fishing trip.

The Winnipeg Free Press reports:
"It looked like she rolled at least two or three times because the car ended up facing the opposite direction of oncoming traffic, upside down in the ditch," Bosworth said. ...Bosworth was in the area because he and his son had gone on a fishing trip. The woman and her passenger were treated at a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
"She was in shock and in pain and we couldn't really move her. Her legs were pinned. We had to cut the steering wheel off. She was screaming every time we moved her," Bosworth said. "It took five or six guys to get her into the ambulance. "
"I see that a lot in the area, the highways aren't the greatest. They are not very forgiving highways. She's lucky. She just missed the guardrail to the river. This could have been really bad," [RCMP Sgt. Line] Karpish said

Good for "The Boz"!!! So many folks took to bashing him for his individuality and attempts to become a movie personality. I'm happy to hear something positive about the guy!

Michael David Smith - Has anyone ever mentioned you with the term: (ahem) writer? Why did you find it necessary to preface a good human interest story with something derogatory? Other than that, it was a (ahem) good story.

MICHAEL DAVID SMITH SHOULD KEEP HIS"AHEMS" TO HIMSELF. IT IS A GOOD HUMAN INTEREST STORY AND SMITH NEEDN'T HAVE DETRACTED FROM ITS POSITIVE NATURE WITH HIS OWN ARROGANCE AND IMPUDENCE.

It is so nice to hear the good things that retired NFL players do in the community to help people, instead of the bad things that the current or retired NFL players do to make the sports news.

Good Job,but what people are not aware of is to move someone who was in such a horrific accident you have to be aware of the possibility of a spinal cord injury. Try to refrain from doing this unless there is an immediate danger to life (fire, drowning etc). I understand the need to help and we thank any help that is given by citizens

I met and sat across from him while he was a Seahawk on a bus ride from Portland to Seattle because of SEA-TAC being fogged in. He was completely the opposite of his perceived personna by being very polite and gracious. I am not surprised for his good deed in coming to this ladies rescue.

The little "ahem" comment is indicative of the snobbery exhibited by the establishment press/media. They set themselves above the "great unwashed" out there. The unwashed is the ignorant public that eagerly waits every day to be enlightened by these "reporters." Take them away from their elitist ideas and their word processors, and they couldn't pour pee from a boot. Bernard Goldberg hit some seriously raw nerves with the publication of his two books, BIAS and IGNORANCE. Isn't it interesting to note the media's ranking in the polls is about as low as the rankings of Congress. I decided a long time ago the New York Times and the Washington Post serve a very good purpose, the lining of my parrot's cage.

i am glad to hear that an athlete finally did something good instead of being involved in bar riots, rape, dope, etc. this isnt a suprise to me that it involved brian bosworth. the media and its biased hatred towards oklahoma bashed this guy his whole life. i didnt see the media report it when brian bosworth was in oklahoma city doing charity work for the childrens hospital invited, took , and paid for every child that was able to go and several nurses to colorado for a ski trip vacation. the media always bashed bosworth for the "boz" personna he created while at oklahoma to get media attention on himself. it worked but reality is his stats were good enough to get nfl scouts attention. i remember seeing bosworth on an ou special video where he was crying and apologizing to former ou greats for his antics and his self felt guilt of somehow embarassing the program. one of the former players told him he didnt need to apologize that he was young and in no way did he ever disrespect the great tradition at ou so i believe the earlier post when they stated he was a humble and gracious person.
